  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anybody tried it yet?

Yep I have. Not many new features but FM now displays song title and album art if station has it.

Also noticed they added the time in the top right of the rearview 360 camera.

Noticed the mode switch pop-up window look is refreshed/changed.

I already have the USB stick ready to go, but haven't done it yet. The other change I liked was that each mode has its own 'equalizer' setting now, which is nice. In other words, each mode has independent treble, mids, and bass settings, as well as the 'staging' mode, if any. Apparently no map updates?

How do you know no map updates? I'm not sure if there is or not

I don't know; that's why I was asking. But I assume there should be map updates, or the update would have taken 5 minutes, not 55. Just finished doing it, and couldn't find 'sounds of nature' anymore. Apparently it was removed from the menu, and added to 'media'. I put it in the 'mode' button on the steering wheel, since my wife might like it now that several more 'themes' were added. Did it with 'accessories' on. Now need to do it on the SF Calligraphy.

I like the new Experience the universe sound.

That's a long time to copy 32MB of data. Sheesh. I assume you are just leaving the ignition on and letting it go, vs running the engine?

Takes the same time regardless of method. And I used a USB3, so it's the car/system that is the 'bottleneck'. As a side note, just did the update on my 2022 SF Calligraphy, which has the same system, and it took 1 hr 20 min (vs 55 min), so the G70 was significantly quicker :).

Now that you mentioned that, I had to crank it higher, and said to myself 'I don't remember it was that high'. Ha ha. So maybe yes? I don't listen to music that loud anyway, so no big deal, but maybe they're trying to prevent blown speakers, or something.

I just hope nothing got worse. When I updated my 2015 Genesis, most of the updates were welcome. However, one feature that I use frequently is downloading a destination from phone directly to car. Annoying because I used it a few times a month.

Nah nothing really changed except one annoying thing I found.

When you press the call button on your steering wheel, it takes you to the dialer except now with this update, you can't dial if you're driving. So then why the heck do they still default to that screen instead of the call history as they did in a previous update. I wish it could default to that again instead of the dialer...

What happens if you press call button 2x? Will it dial last number like before I wonder?

It appears that the October update is not for 2022-2023 models: GENESIS NAVIGATION MAP UPDATE > Notifications
I updated my 2023 G70 a few days ago, and just like the first time when I bought it 3 months ago, the updater had '2021-22 G70', so only the 2023 was left out (again). But I was told it's the same thing, so did it both times as a 21-22, and no issues. The only issue is the 2nd profile has missing a few menu items like the digital speedo, the TPMS screen, etc., so erased it, and now my wife just has her settings on the 2nd memory button, and problem solved.

How is it that this is not for 2023 cars? I want the newest relaxing sounds and maps too. Smh
