  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

You can. Just upgrade
My car year make and model is not listed on the update documentation and it is not coming up as an OTA of course either.

Weird why would it be excluded. What about flashing to a USB and loading that way

has anyone experienced lower audio volumes?
Those of us who owned the 2021 G80 and traded for the 2022 G80 notice the Volume Level change in the 2022 G80.
I reached out to Genesis Customer Service but no one could tell me why the change was made, but stated that they would send my concern to Tech Support, but I have not had any response.
The assumption of one poster on this thread that the change might have been made to keep speakers from being blown is a good one, especially if owners were cranking up the sound, blowing speakers and having them replaced under warranty.

How is it that this is not for 2023 cars? I want the newest relaxing sounds and maps too. Smh

I own a 2023 too, and used the 21-22 G70 version listed on the downloader. Surprised the '22 is not listed on the picture above, because on the downloader it is, and that's what I used the last time as well, and everything worked fine. No issues this time either. Just use the '21-22' when you download the downloader, and go from there. Oh, and insert a clean USB stick with 64GB before opening the downloader, and use that instead of a hard drive.

Is this latest update available for free for those of us with a 2019 G70 that is out warranty and no longer has the Genesis Connect (or whatever it's called) subscription?
Also, does it keep the silly (IMO) nixie-tube display look that they added a while back? (I skipped that update).

...
Yes, so far.

Nixies were gone in the one of the last updates.

Yep, nixies were removed since the previous April update. Somebody reported over the Santa Fe forum not being able to make phone calls while driving now, but haven't tried that yet. Hope that's not the case on neither vehicle, but we'll see.

The update is free, I did it effortlessly today and the Nixies have been gone for awhile. So you have missed additional updates. The Nixies weren't bad, I had numerous people get in the car who thought they were cool. Can't imagine skipping a map update due to not liking the radio visual. We travel to much to ignore anything map related. And no I don't use my phone for maps, the car system is just to easy and effortless.

I stopped using the car for navigation after the first time I tried it and really needed it. It totally screwed up, so I went back to Google maps (not that I have a need to use it all that often.)
I grew up with Nixie tubes, so I'm not really missing them, haha.
Maybe the new maps will know the speed limits on the roads around me.

So is the general theme here that this update has very little over the last update?

What is the new button, like an orange "S" in a black box on the radio homepage? Says a subscription is required but not what to.

Also the sound quality sounds better to me, marginally, but better.

Yeah that's the Soundhound logo but looks like we can't do anything with it. I pressed it too. I only saw the icon in FM, nowhere else..

Interesting. Downloaded the PC nav updater app. No 2023 listed, tried 2022 and it says no updates found, of course i logged in w mygenesis login which shows the car fine but update app doesn't, cant do it via connected services either, wtf. Just picked up this 23 Awd sport prestige, has under 200 miles on it. And is running the May 2022 update

I used the '21-'22 update for my '23 twice already, and no issues. With a May update, you shouldn't have the 'nixie tubes' anymore (mine did, so had to update it with the April one when I bought it), so you only need the latest November update. I did it the day it came out, but it was supposedly pulled (it was pulled for sure on the '22 SF, which is the same thing), although my car doesn't seem to have any issues so far. It should be back on line at any time.

Just updated my ‘19 G70 to V16.5. Only took about 25 min using the SD card Mapnsoft mailed me. I had V15.5 from last Nov so glad to get rid of those weird tubes on the radio screen that changed in that version. Only issue I’m seeing now for those who have Sirius XM like me, is the new album art picture loads (slowly) on some stations, but not on others for whatever reason. It seems to be sporadic for which station eventually shows it or not. That was a common issue back on my ‘17 G80 too if I recall when I owned it.

I think every time after an update the XM album and logo and all takes a while to all come back as they were before so just be patient. Restart the system a couple of times with the tiny button with a pen. They'll eventually come back. Yea I'm happy those tubes are gone too
