Let's hope so! I wish I had never updated to the cheesy tubes. Looks so low budget by today's standards. Does not fit the character of the car in my opinion.I hope they revamp the UI again and get rid of the radio bulbs/tubes and modernize it![]()
They were quite the big deal in their dayLet's hope so! I wish I had never updated to the cheesy tubes. Looks so low budget by today's standards. Does not fit the character of the car in my opinion.

The shitty voice assistance system is my biggest gripe. It SUCKS and it's unaware of your position. I'm in Canada, why is it giving me random results all the way out in the US rather than businesses and places around me first..Hopefully the new map software actually is updated with current data (as in 2021+ data). My 15.5 map still shows stores and gas stations that closed YEARS ago!
Also, I hold little hope that they fixed the incredible poor voice assistance system. My son and I asked it to find a fast food chain called Freddie's and she would offer up random places that had nothing to do with Freddie's. Like she'd give directions to Big Lots, or Walgreens or any number of nonsense place. We made a game of it asking her to find all kinds of national chain stores and restaurants and she NEVER could find them even when we had 1-2 within 5 miles of us. That or she'd say the dreaded "I couldn't understand you" even when we practically had to yell the command to her. Their system is HORRIBLE.
Either way sucks. I try to use "send to car" whenever I can.No, I tap the button on the steering will to prompt her.
There is also a button on the steering wheel to change stations with a simple touch. Nice to browse them in the order you want. Easier and faster than a voice command.ALSO why do people try to find ways to program the radio buttons in order? I haven't pushed a radio selection button in many years, that's what the voice request button is for on the steering wheel.
What the heck do you mean by exceptional? It's an absolute POS voice system and really doesn't work reliably..The problems listed above possibly have something to do with the person giving the commands? I use GPS everytime I drive the car/truck/bike due to the attached traffic guidance attached to the route. The Genesis system works exceptional. The only exception to this is if we're in a bad cell area. The GMC unit and the Harley unit are far behind the Genesis. Using a Dongle and blah. blah, blah is just not something anyone would ever need in my opinion. But we all have opinions. ALSO why do people try to find ways to program the radio buttons in order? I haven't pushed a radio selection button in many years, that's what the voice request button is for on the steering wheel.
Works fine for me in Canada. I always use voice commands for destinations since 2018!What the heck do you mean by exceptional? It's an absolute POS voice system and really doesn't work reliably..
Not sure if maybe it depends on region, but in Canada it's trash. I believe the US and Canadian systems are also different, the US one I remember got an update (v15) where it became based on Soundhound's "Houndify AI", this isn't available yet, if at all, in Canada. Would be awesome to get that in v16.
So maybe that's why.
Exactly this. Same here.I've had 3 different people ask the car to "Find..." numerous places and 98% of the time she is totally wrong in what she "finds" or she says "Sorry, I didn't understand you". Worst voice system I've ever used.
Note that I don't subscribe to any of the Hyundai services and I do use AA most days, but sometimes we get a kick out of hearing how stupid the Hyundai lady is.![]()
Google powered system in the stock navigation? Or you mean Android Auto lol.. Didn't see any version powered by Google, maybe the new 2022 Genesis?I too hope the nixie tubes go away and they return control of presets.
I don't use the voice commands often. I've only used them to find destinations and it's worked pretty well. I wonder if there are multiple implementations of the voice systems. The one I've used is powered by google and accesses the internet to interpret the command (the "paid" service that's included for the first few years of a new purchase).
