  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 25,000 miles on my OEM tires and it looks like they will need replaced in another 5,000 miles (rears). The fronts have more tread left, 5mm to the wear bars as compared to 3mm on the rear tires. As I was researching today it seems that we are really locked into the Michelin Primacy line because of the weight of the vehicle and width of our tires. I have three primary criteria in my search for an EV tire;
1. low rolling resistance.
2. Acoustic tuned (foam)
3. XL for the weight
My secondary criteria is higher mileage and price.
First, I am wondering if anyone else has researched tires for the G80 EV and has some advice.
Second, since the tires are offset I'm considering 280's on the back to extend the wear to match the front tires.
Edit:
My research has been through a Genesis dealership, a regional tire chain that I regularly use and Tire Rack.

I don’t have any insight, but I’m interested in your experience. I’m likely 5K miles behind you in needing new tires.

Have you ever taken the time to admire the front and rear profile of the G80? Take a moment to stand 20 feet behind the vehicle and notice the profile as the roofline drops down and gently widens to the wheel wells then bends back. Finally, the 275's pop out to meet the pavement. Mmm. Nice.
Now for the front. The gentle slope from the nose to the windshield. The curvature of the hood from side to side the "power squat" of the front end with the 245's on the front axles. OOF! It makes me think of Speed McQueen bearing down just before hard acceleration.
But...this beauty comes at a price. Due to the width of the tires, most of the major brands only offer high performance tires. I did find some touring tires in the 275/40R19 but not many and not wearing an EV label (let's not dive into EV specific or non-EV tires just yet). After many Tire Rack and Discount Tire searches and videos here is what I was thinking:

1. Michelin - e.Primacy AS - My first choice due to range and noise but does not come in 275/40R19
2. Kumho - Solus Majesty 9 TA91 EV - Second choice due to range and noise but does not come in 275/40R19
3. Hankook - Ion Evo AS - rated 4 out of 5 stars on rolling resistance and 50K mileage but again, does not come in 275/40R19
4. Kumho - Solus Majesty 9 TA91 (NON-EV) - Great value but I there is not a lot of reviews. It is hard to find about the rolling resistance or quietness.
5. Pirelli - P Zero AS Plus 3 - rated 2.5 out of 5 stars on rolling resistance and 50K mileage

After all of the research I am considering the Kumho Solus Majesty 9 TA91 NON-EV and Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. I'm interested in the thought and research of others.
