  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,
Just thought I would sign up and say hi to other Genesis lovers and ask a question about sticking control buttons.

My mom has a 2015 that we adore and I had a chance to get a 2012 for cheap on Ebay. The pictures and description of recent service, new tires, and spotless Carfax had us thinking if we could get the car for good price we would do so as we love the Genesis so much.

We zipped in at last moment of auction and got her for under $6500. Went to Philly to check it out and the ONLY issue is the center console buttons for stereo/map controls stick a little bit. They do release in a short time, but still sticks and annoying.

Even the paint has not gotten "tired" yet, a few marks here and there but for 8 years old, I could not be happier. We even got a 6 month warranty.

I would like to address the sticking button issues though. Anyone have advise on the task at hand?

Best,
Haley

Looks nice from the photos. Other had similar problems, sometimes from spilled coffee or soft drinks. You may find more information with a search. I would get a can of electronic contact cleaner and try that. Available at most hardware and industrial supply houses.

There is a lot of good information here from man experienced owners. If you plan to stick around, consider becoming a member and supporting the site with a modest donation to help defray the operating costs. Click on the UPGRADE button near the top of the page.

Thanks for the info and the invite. I will look into the cleaner and if it don't work I will see about taking it apart, cant be too hard I s'pose.

I will wander about the threads here and decide later about donating. I follow quite a few owners forums and try to be careful as they can turn into time vampires very quickly!

Cheers,
Haley

WELCOME !!

That's a nice clean car, Spydergirl.

:welcome: to the forum!

Nice clean Genesis.
I'm from Bucks County PA

Very nice welcome to our world.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

NSXNEXT,
We picked up the car not too far from you. Always enjoy any drive thru PA countryside and mountains. We try to get to Carlisle each year for the huge Carlisle Import and Performance Nationals with our toys. Great 3 day car show with well over 1000 cars and a ton to see and do in the area as well as the show. Usually we are in the Featured Cars building when we attend, just might do the Judging events this year and be able to take the cars out and about instead of being displayed all weekend. They moved the dates this year due to Covid, not sure if we will have the time open to go, but I am hoping.

Here is a picture from a prior year when we had 2 of our cars in one of the featured carlisle.webpdisplay buildings.

Cheers all,
Haley
