  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After months of research and comparisons we have decided that the Genesis V6 with the Tech package will be the car for us. I'm only waiting to see the difference between the 2013's and the new 2014.

I'm 60 and we travel the country quite a bit just for fun. Used to do it in a 40' motorhome, but that got old after 5 years, so now we want a good cruiser for a reasonable price. Even though we could afford one, I couldn't bring myself to pop $65K+ for a BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. so Genesis it is :)

My wife has a 2006 Sonata with the V-6, 100K miles on it and we haven't had one major problem yet.

If anyone gets some pics or info on the 2014's please let this board know! I'm just sitting here... waiting!:(

Cheers!
Steve

There will be no major changes for the 2014 (and maybe not even any minor ones) and the 2014 should be available in late summer or the early fall. As soon as it comes out, you can probably get a great deal on a 2013 model year.

The 2015 will be a complete redesign, and is "expected" to be available in 2nd quarter of 2014. However, sometimes plans change depending on how well final testing is going.

There are some threads in this forum that show what it looks like, but not a lot of details regarding anything else. Unfortunately, some of the threads that show pics of the next generation Genesis are labeled 2014 Genesis, because it was known at that time exactly when the next generation Genesis would be released. But we now know it will be a 2015 model released in mid 2014. Keep in mind that it may be released earlier than that in Korea.

I got an email from Rick Case, Ft. Lauderdale a couple of days ago saying that they had the 2014 Equus. I would think that the 2014 Genesis would be coming soon. I have less than 3,000 miles on my 2013 Equus so I don't feel an urgent need to see the 2014.

Huh. I was told they'd likely be put on trains this week with a 10-14 day due date at dealers. Found this out 2 days ago. How did Case get one already?
FYI, it's not on their website yet.
At least I have my VIN. Already checked what they did at Port: fixed knee air bag system for faulty alignment.
Waiting impatiently....

Looks like the Equus riff-raff has high-jacked this Genesis thread.

Well, I couldn't stand it and bought a 2013 Genesis with the Tech package yesterday. I got what I feel was a really great deal so I'm happy :)

Black on black color, wing package for trunk and wheels installed by dealer included, $3000 in rebates & $5K knocked off the sticker. Plus they gave me $5K from our 2006 Sonata. THAT was a surprise!

Now I need to learn all that electronic stuff :)
