  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, my name is Deuce, I'm 22, and planning on making my first car (new/pre owned) purchase from a dealership. I have owned 3 cars so far.

1986 Nissan 300zx Turbo
1989 Honda Prelude Si
1995 Honda Prelude Vtec

Basically, just from you guys, I would like to know the pros/cons of each year model. (say, 10-12)

Is it better to buy a pre-owned Gensesis? Are they basically the same in this generation? What changes are there?

About what are the differences in prices?

Whats the difference in leasing and purchasing?

What is a good % rate and monthly bill I should shoot for? (say, I go for a 24 month or a 36 month ).

I know this is alot of questions, and some are quite nooby, but i'm totally flying blind here. I have only bought/flipped cars from regular joes that I have purchased them from. I also don't plan on any major mods until its paid off.

Also considering purchasing a Velostar, but really more focused on the genesis.

Specific color and trim: black ext, black int, 2.0T R-Spec

Thanks guys for reading, and for helping out this hyundai noob. Please give any pro-con you can think of. lol.

Guy you need to read car buying 101 or have someone who knows, like a family member help you out. This is a serious financial responsibility that you are undertaking so it's best to get some personal guidance, not just direction on an internet forum.

I just purchased my first new car, and I wanted to share just a little for you.

1) It all starts with how much you can reasonable afford per month. DO the work/math, and find out what you can afford per month on a payment.

2) I found that I was able to buy a new Gen.Coupe for the same price as a used due to incentives that are available from Hyundai.

3) There are many great resources out there on all that you have asked.

4) Use truecar.com to work out pricing on new cars. I used it as a base to negotiate from, and I save a lot of money.

5) a good rate is 4% or below right now, which will be based upon your credit rating. You can find that out for free.

6) Hyundai has a financing rates right now. I got 3.9% for 60 months.

7) I originally wanted the 3.8 but found the 2.0T was more than good enough, and the price was a lot lower.

Good hunting! I LOVE my car and I bet you will too!
