  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I lucked into this vehicle. After a manhole in San Antonio ate the tranny in my 2015 Sonata, the opportunity to purchase this 2013 Sedan came along. Long story short, my mother (75 yours young) wanted a new car and I needed something for rideshare driving. I was looking for 4 doors and a good A/C. I had no idea about the engine in this car. Guess she is the "Little Ol' Lady From Pasadena!"

Anyway, first order of business is oil change. Some friends warned me about changing the oil filter without having a replacement cap ready just in case. So my question is, what is a suitable replacement? Any recommendations? Is a metal cap made? Please post any suggestions and/or links about the subject here. In the meantime, I'm off to dig around in the forums myself!

Thanks!

I would imagine that this info is offered too late but I had to buy the entire oil filter housing unit for my 2013 because the cap had become stripped and I could not find a replacement. Fortunately I was able to buy the entire housing with brand new cap and filter for just 60$ on eBay. All you have to do is look under the car and you can see if the cap is worn though.

Well, I'm glad to hear you got that issue taken care of. Especially with it not costing an arm and a leg...
