  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Welcome. Moving this into the Genesis G70 forum...

Shouldnt matter. Not sure but sounds like you should let the dealership know

I also have a 2022 model and I sometimes forget to press Lock on the key fob first, then press and hold hold the Start button. I'm not quite sure why that's the key-sequence they choose to use.

Make sure you are pressing the correct buttons on the fob. If you are within the prescribed distance and you pressed the proper button sequence and within the stated time (3 seconds) it should start. It will not stay running very long once it starts - the manual says 10 minutes but mine shuts off after 5 minutes.

If it still won't start, you may need to have your fobs reprogrammed by the dealer OR maybe there is something that you or the dealer needs to do for registering the vehicle for that initial 3 year complimentary service (that makes the remote start work)?

I think the key sequence they chose may be a sort of standard - Both of my Yukons had the same key sequence.

It took me a while to figure it out too😂. Finally read how to do it in the manual. I never really use the key fob though. The app is definitely my go to.

If the fob works otherwise, you're probably just doing it wrong, as stated. The locking part is the weird step, but it's universal, I think. And the fob remote start does NOT require the Bluelink (or whatever Genesis calls it) subscription. That is for the app. By the way, does the engine shut off after you enter the car? I think Hyundais do that, and if that's the case with the Genesis too, it kind of defeats the purpose of the feature, no? I never use that, but just seems stupid if that's the case. On most other cars, you just touch the start button to energize the dash, etc, and you're good to go.

I'm new as of yesterday too, and need to read the entire freaking manual. Ha ha. Now will look how to program the custom drive mode, which is one of the few things I need to learn, since it's not a feature on the Palisade or other Hyundai vehicles. I'm quite familiar with the infotainment system already. Oh, and I also need to look into how to put my wife as the 2nd driver on the infotainment, so she can have her own settings. We were used to the Tesla, where you don't have to do anything, since the car detects your phone. Here, she'll have to press her memory button, AND click on her profile on the screen, right? Also have to see which settings are not programmable, just to know.

I use the app on a consistent basis. I start the car 5 minutes before I leave for work in the morning. The car doesn't shut off when I enter it. It only shuts off if I open a door and leave it open for too long. If I open the door, throw my fob in, and close the door the car stays running. I believe it also shuts off after 10 minutes.

Nice. Good to hear; thank you. Seems better implemented than regular Hyundais. And that is with the fob too?

I think they call it Connected Services. I guess I will find out for certain in 3 years if the fob remote start remains working. The dealer didn't even know the answer to that for my particular car and trim.

I will likely never use the app but use the remote start from the fob every day.

The fob has NOTHING to do with connected services. Again, that is for 'connected' services between car and app, and car and concierge/SOS/etc services. Your remote start will continue to work the same.
