Hi Group, I am new to this forum and look forward to being part of it. I am the proud owner of a loaded 2016 3.8 AWD. I am fresh out of 15 years (5 cars) of Infiniti ownership with the last one being a 2014 Q50 sport. Here is my initial thoughts of my new Genesis vs. The Q50
1- Genesis fit and finish blows away the q50
2- Although they are 2 very very different cars the Genesis is so quiet, refined, smooth, where the Infiniti was a very harsh load car. The Infiniti run flat tires made the car sound like it was riding on a rail road track. I changed mine at 10,000 miles. Could not take it any longer
3- Feature to feature the Genesis tops the Infiniti with the exception of the 3d surround camera and front camera. (not in Genesis)
4- The electronics in the Genesis are fast and responsive where the InTouch Infiniti system was an electronics disaster. So far Bluelink seems to work well.
5- Nice to drive with a steering system that is actually attached to the road instead of being run by sensors. Infiniti DAS steering sometimes had a mind of it's own.
6- Nice to be able to hear the stereo again. The Infiniti cabin was loud, full of wind noise and matched up with an under powered Bose stereo/
I do have a few minor disappointments ( none deal breakers) with the Genesis:
1- Why aren't the parking sensor indicators on nav screen instead of instrument lcd screen? Seems more natural to seeing the indicators while looking at the backup camera.
2- Can't lock the car door while car is running? So much for keeping the heat going while running in for your morning coffee.
3- Major blind spot when looking over left shoulder.
Once again I look forward to learning and contributing to this forum.
