In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. It is a radar dector. It's the Escort 9500ix with GPS for traffic lights speed traps, etc. Pretty cool. They update the database everyweek. Just plug the unit into your laptop and you're up to date.
 
there are a few out there that are invisible to Police radar, this is one and the Bel STI is another. But, big chance to take if you get caught (i believe you are fined AND they take the unit, ouch!!)

I have the Bel STI and it's already paid itself 3 times over. I have mine hard wired right above my line of site behind the tinted upper part of windshield ;)
