  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

NEW X5 UNAVI Navigation System

I don't know what happened here........ interest from UNAVI seems to have died.:mad::(

I though that CarLightTrends posted that they are starting development on a unit that will fit Genesis cars that already have factory Nav (original one only fit cars without Nav). Must be in another thread.

I purchased my 2009 Genesis new and it now has 22.800 miles on the odometer. Frankly, I love this car and it is still "cherry," black inside and out and not a scratch.

I've never seen any comments or testimonials from owners who have installed this UNAVI in their Genesis. Mine is without GPS. The idea of spending any big buck on a 2009 auto isn't something I'd usually consider, but seeing that I love the car, its got so little mileage, makes me wonder if the cost of buying a 2015 Genesis is something I'd want versus putting a Navigation in dash with backup camera into the car.

I've asked the service writers at my dealership if they've ever seen this unit and they say they've never heard of UNAVI. If it wee being sold and installed by Hyundai dealerships I'd have a higher level of confidence.

Seems like they've dropped the idea :(

I'd love to have a system that works....... don't need "fresh" interface or such, just one that would recognize voice commands, play audio when I turn the car on instead of having to jump through hoops, understands "call home"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being ignored is the worst thing a company can do for their business. I know they read these posts, yet they say NOTHING !!!

At this point, I wouldn't buy a system from them. It makes me believe they would do the same if I did have one of their systems and needed some help or warranty experience.

The very least they could so is jump in and say........ "sorry folks, but at this point we will not be developing a unit for the Genesis sedan w/tech package.

tsk tsk tsk UNAVI

Not the case at all, we've been extremely busy here with new models in development and the spring show season starting, sorry that we have not been on this board as much as others that we advertise on.

In regards to any type of warranty issues UNAVI stands behind their products 100% much more that other 12v company's that I have worked with in the past. The UNAVI warranty is 3 years from date of purchase.

Now as far as for the Development of the retro fit unit for Tech and Touch Screen Genesis Sedans we have another thread in the main Genesis Sedan area, if we can keep the conversion going over there, this thread is for product announcements and pricing requests.

Pray to God that my head unit doesn't fail, but if it does I'll buy thi vendors product for sure. I have the tech pack

If you can narrow down the thread in the "Main Genesis Sedan area" is, it'd be very helpful.

Sorry you're too busy to monitor your own threads...........

We do have a sticky/poll on the main board, and you can find it HERE AT THIS LINK. As I have posted before this thread is an announcement for our new X5 System in the vendor area and not an open discussion about the retro fit that we are looking to test. If we can move all discussions about the retro fit system over to the main boards.

All I know is I'd definitely be interested in one to replace the stock tech navi if they kept the price to $2,500 or less. The key selling point to me though is having integration with Android phones, still amazes me that car companies cater to Apple so heavily when the majority of people don't own an Apple product.

Yes, we are running a promotion I've PMed you pricing and ordering instructions.

Is this still going on? If so im interested. Im in Florida. Was wondering what the general install cost runs? Is this unit compatable with aftermarket equip as I have already added a couple amps and replaced all the factory speakers. The whole reason I want to replace the factory unit is not only to gain the navigation but to eliminate the factory built in EQ from the radio. Was hoping this has preamp RCA outs??

Is the X5 system fastter than the X2 system? You did a real time video of the X2 system a couple years ago and it seemed a little slow. The new X5 video is not done in real time so I cannot accurtely gauge the response time of the system. Can you shoot a short video of the X5 in real time??

Or do any other guys have the X5 installed already? If so, do you feel the unit responds quickly?

I would also like to know how fast the X5 is. After the car is started, how long before the backup camera is usable? The last video I saw shows the system loading for a while making the back-up camera useless unless you want to wait until the system has loaded before you back up.

We are working on something for the X5, but honestly its performance is on par of a OEM System in regards to boot and start up time. The X5 just takes a few seconds to have the main navigation system start, all the other functions such as radio, AC controls etc. are ready as soon as the unit is powered on.

The backup camera signal is triggered as soon as the car is placed in reverse, so to answer your question when you start your car the backup camera will work as soon as you place the car in reverse. You do not have to wait for to see a reverse image on screen.
