  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New years glitch with head unit?

I too have no issues with my car. I have not had the XM update. My Born date is within 2 days of your Midnightsun so maybe they made some changes in the line after the July run as I have seen Born on dates past ours with issues.

I'm glad it's not just me. I started noticing a few days ago that the car would go from FM to my CD player about 30 seconds after putting the car into drive. So I took the CD out and now it goes from FM to XM.
I haven't had any updates to the car since I bought it, so this would look to me to be a pre-existing bug in the radio software that triggered at the start of the new year. I've seen this type of thing happen with software I've supported over the years, I just wonder how long it will take for Hyundai to develop a fix for it.

Has anyone tried resetting the system per the manual? In the DIS Navigation System / Owner's Manual on page 23, it shows the location of the reset button. It is located just above the right corner of the CD slot. Use a paperclip to insert into the small hole. It doesn't state this but I would presume the car should be running and the system should be on. Hope this helps you all...

Those that has this issue, has anyone tried this yet to see if it fixes the issue?

There is a reflash to correct XM issues you know. Just go to the dealer and have it done. It is not a recall nor a TSB, not exactly sure what they call it. All I was told is they reflashed my head unit because of possible XM issues. Never had a problem and everything still works fine. I do not know if this reflash was meant to solve the new years bug but worth a try. I am really surprised nobody has mentioned this.

I have been out twice today and the issue did not occur. I am hopeful that a XM update has corrected the problem.

I have not had any issue with mine so far.

I had the same issue, it would jump to my USB music after a few seconds, so i removed the USB stick and started the car yesterday and it stayed on XM. After work (still with USB unplugged), started the car without the problem.

When i got home, i plugged the USB stick in for the following day, started this morning and didn't get the issue.. went out to lunch today and still didn't get the issue.

So not sure, if you just need to remove your USB/CDs and start the car to clear it or XM sent something OTA?

I'll report if anything changes...

I just received an xm update. It might have fixed the problem. Let's see if that solves it.

Did the dealer to the xm update or was it over their system?

If over their system, how did you know it was applied?

My radio showed that it was updating yesterday and the problem seems to have disappeared with 9 starts since. Hope it stays that way.

same with me it rebooted once New years day and that was it. Mac

It was something OTA (over the air), because I didn't take it in to a dealer.

Xm said it was updating and next time I turned on the car it didn't seem to have the issue. I'll report back if anything changes.

Mine has been fine for two days now, so I think it's fixed with the OTA fix.

Didn't notice any radio skips for the past few days. I guess they fixed it :)

still no issues with mine. Never had any. works great!

Mine has been fine now for couple days. The head unit would not display the info screen that has radio/nav split for a day or so and then everything went back to working fine.

FWIW if you're seeing Pandora and Aha they've been there all along.
Pandora was pre-installed. When I was checking the apps folder last December , there was nothing at all. This morning when I checked, yes you are right , Aha was one of them and there is another one as free to download.
