  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,

Just joined the forum (after lurking for a couple of months) and about to join the Genesis family (I think). I would really appreciate your purchase price input. I have identified and negotiated the following deal from a non-franchise dealer in Arkansas:

2011 4.6
25k miles
Clean carfax
No accidents - VIN stickers match and paint is factory except for 1 bumper
Limited warranty repair history (thanks to tips from the forum about hmservice.com)
Excellent service records (oil changed every 4k at local Hyundai dealer)
1 Individual owner (not a rental, fleet, etc) - spoke to original owner
Color: Gold with tan (not my favorite, but ok)
38 months of basic 5/60 warranty remaining
Not CPO
Non-smoker
Will need new tires in about 5-10k miles
No floormats
Overall condition is an 8.5/10 - a little TLC gets it to a 9/10

Negotiated price (out the door including all taxes and fees) - $26k even

This feels like a really good deal, but I would certainly appreciate your input. I expect to close the deal later today if you folks agree that it's a fair or better deal.

Thanks very much for your input and I look forward to changing my status from "looking for a Genny" to "drives a 4.6"....:D

Yes, thank you for your input. The original owner put me in touch with his body shop and they confirmed the bumber was just repaired and sprayed, not replaced. He backed into something that caused a noticable scratch that he didn't like looking at...

The trunk vin sticker is still in place so I know it hasn't been replaced and the paint looks/feels original compared to rest of car, so story seems to make sense.

Additional thoughts and comments are appreciated. :D

Seems like a good deal on a 2011 4.6, but maybe think hard......If you're not crazy about the color then maybe keep looking a little bit more........
