  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My wife drives an '09 4.6 and I have appreciated the thoughtful help as I have helped her with her car over the last few years which I have gotten here.

She is approaching the 90k mile and wants to purchase a new vehicle. Since she has been happy with the Genesis she is considering a new one. I have seen that the 310 bhp Genesis goes for about $39k with some of the features she wants.

I have not seen a time when so many very good vehicles are for sale and with mileage being a concern we are looking around.

Ideas welcome on the new Genesis models, or anything in general related to purchasing an equivalent vehicle.

Thanks in advance.

I have 144,000 on my 2011 4.6 with tech. Still runs like new. Brakes lasted to over 130,000. Our plan is to keep our genny to about 240,000 miles. Why is 90,000 miles a concern for you? Have you had problems with your o9?

Yes, ABS switch $2000.00 covered under warranty and several stop lamps fail. Several steering issues as well as hard to align.

But the real reason is that she does not want to drive a vehicle which is not under warranty. Peace of mind to her.

This. The minute mine goes out of warranty, it's hitting a lot. I wont drive this out of warranty especially with how costly the parts are on her

Yes..when the ABS switch cost over 2k that got our attention.

I would take her down to the nearest Hyundai dealer and have her test from a 2015 Genesis. It is an awesome ride...

If you want a bargain, look at a new 2014 Genesis with Premium and Tech. It will be cheaper than a 2015 base model.

In that case make sure she doesn’t see a 2015 Genesis.

This is my plan. I put the bumper to bumper $0 deductible for 7/100k so I wouldn't need to worry about surprise charges. My plan is to drive mine til then. It seems I get 2-3 mailings a week to trade my Camry in, and about one every 2 weeks to trade the Genesis in. Something tells me with as few miles as I drive this thing, that it shouldn't be a problem to sell it private party....unless gas goes to $5/gal
