If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. This is the sketch that follows an earlier rendering of the third generation Hyundai Equus, due in 2010. As far as sedans are concerned, it looks like Hyundai is moving toward the Aston Martin school of design -- make something everyone loves, and then make it a little different and give it another name. The coming Kia luxury sedan started it, and beneath the cartoonish anger of this Equus sketch there's a Genesis on a bad batch of nandrolone.

Underneath and inside, the car won't be lacking in either power or pleasures. Pushed by the rear wheels this time, an Equus first, initially it will be offered with the Genesis' 4.6-liter V8 and Hyundai's in-house eight-speed automatic transmission. Later, a 5.0-liter V8 will get up to 420 hp, and some speculation hints that the lump will be direct injection and cylinder deactivation. Other chatter suggests that engine will be joined by an optional 5.5-liter supercharged variant.

The bulging sheetmetal on the previous rendering won't be the only thing the car shares with the Mercedes S-Class; it will also be loaded with tech. Features will include a Lane Departure Warning System, Pre-Safety Seatbelt System, and LED-equipped headlights and taillights. Hyundai's newest flagship is expected to be in South Korean dealerships in February.

Oh my God. If this car comes to America, I will own it on day one.

You are right! The Equus looks like it's having a really bad day and wants to kick some "A"! I pray that Hyundai brings it to the States because I want to be the first in line for it!

If it makes it here in 2010 I'll be trading my Genesis for one..........

How could Hyundai have a car THAT nice and not have it here in the States? Does anyone here know about importing? Because if the final product looks even FAIRLY close to that rendition, I'll seriously consider importing it here. I want this car... Then again, if it ends-up costing me the same as an S-Class after all the fees, than I'll just stick with the Mercedes.

This car should start here at $65k - and fully loaded, touch $70k.. Unfortunately, any more than that and you're paying Lexus LS460 prices. While this car may be just as good - America just isn't ready to pay the same price for a Hyundai and a Lexus..

Regarding the STUNNING Equus VI, as much as I LOVE my Genesis, I would trade it in for the Equus in a freaking heart beat. I just hope it's priced as good as the Genesis is. In other words, I think it should start at around $46,000 and fully loaded $53,000. If it starts in the $50's, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to lease it and that would SUCK!!

I am assuming is a couple of inches longer than the Genesis to be closer to the LS, 750i and S-550, right?

If they want to kick Lexus, BMW and M-B's A**, they should try and stay at that price range, I think.

What do you guys think?

I think if this car starts at $46k, everyone and their dog would own one. While that would be great at first (lots of cars sold), it would dilute the vehicle - and sales would eventually stop. When everyone and their best buddy working at McDonalds owns one (8 year loan), it'll end there. A vehicle like this HAS to be something that people need to have reached some level of financial freedom to own. It also should NOT wear a Hyundai badge.

I dont see anyone ever trying to own a Equus, especially new if it cost more than the mid 40k's here in the US. There comes a point where enough is enough. I doubt Hyundai would build it just for leasing

If they bring it they better do some serious thoughts about the dealership and the service experience.

^ True... I would love to get my hands on this car.... this car would have potential to go straight after the MB S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS470..... With the outstanding reviews of the Genesis, this would be the icing on the cake.

If the Genesis does well enough in the U.S, they may send the Equus to the states. But don't expect to see it until Genesis becomes it's own luxury brand seperate from Hyundai with it's own badge & own svc depts.

Hyundai Genesis: Price of a BMW 3-series, competes with the 5-series. Price of a Mercedes C-Class, competes with the E-Class.

I'm thinking of Hyundai Equus: Price of a BMW 5-series, competes with 7-Series. Price of a Mercedes E-class, competes with the S-Class.

This car will be a must have for any Gen 1 Genesis owners. In the same way that the current version exceeds the performance and comfort levels of cars $20K - $30K, no matter what this car is priced out, we can expect the same extraordinary value comparison to the competitive market.

Imagine 420 hp out of a non aspirated 5.0 liter V8. It takes a supercharger in the Jaguar XF-S to get the same power. On top of that, if Hyundai does come out with a supercharged 500 hp V8 as the blogs are teasing us with, this car will easily go nose to nose with finest super sedans... CLS63, M5, XF-R, Audi S8 etc.

I'd easily pay $65K for a 500 hp Genesis. That's slightly more than I paid for my GS430 3 years ago. Once again, a value only Hyundai can produce.

2010 Hyundai Equus Photos, $96000 Price Tag Leak!

"Would you pay $96,000 for a Hyundai? What if you were a South Korean executive in the market for a domestic S-Class? Hyundai is hoping the answer is yes.

The Hyundai Equus will be the most advanced and expensive Hyundai ever. Available in the South Korean market only, the Equus is a lengthened version of the Genesis chassis and will be optionally equipped with a new 5.0-liter V8 making over 420 HP and delivering 0-to-60 times of less than six seconds. With an overall length of nearly 17-feet, it’s over seven inches longer than the Hyundai Genesis.

But it's that price tag that's the most shocking. Obviously it's for a fully-optioned, 5.0-liter V8-equipped sedan. The Equus will also be available with the Genesis’s 3.8-liter Lambda V6 and 4.6-liter Tau V8, so, according to the well-informed Hyundaiophiles at Hyundai Blog, its starting price is more likely to be in the region of $70,000 when it goes on sale in South Korea next year."

Ya really gotta take a minute and scan through the reader comments on the attached link. Of course, it's all about hatin' on the audacity of the brand (big surprise - NOT - given an article about a $100K Hyundai), but you have to admit they're creative!

Hmmm, I have to say, from that photo, it's a bit of a dissapointment.
