I had placed an order for all-weather mats for a 2011 Genesis about two weeks ago. Called up Shophyundaiparts.com today only to discover that the existing Genesis all-weather mats will not fit on a 2011. And the 2011 mats will not be available for another several months.

Has anyone gotten Genesis brand of all-weather mats for a 2011 model? Has anyone tried installing the all-weather mats for earlier models on a 2011? What has changed?

The mat I got fitted my new 2011 perfectly. Did anything about the car change for 2011?

If you need one I have a spare.

I would be very surprised if there was any change to the floor mats.

I would hope so too. But the Shop Hyundai Parts parts guy is saying that upon entering the VIN number it is showing incompatible. He apparently called someone and they told him it was different. I just checked the Honda Accessroy Store website and they too are listing 2009 - 10 as the model years for the all-weather mats.

Also, I would not place an order with Shop Hyundai Parts. Along with the mats I had also placed an order for a cargo tray and wheel locks two weeks ago. After two weeks they did not ship any of the parts. Online it had indicated that my shipping charges would be $20 when I placed the order for all three. Now they removed the mats (which are probably the heaviest component and are telling me that the shipping fee would be even more ($30). I told them to cancel the order.

SCB, do you have a 2011? If so and the mats fit perfectly, then I would be interested in taking the mats off your hand. Please send me a private message.

Thanks,

I just got off the phone with Hyundai Accessory Store and they told me the same thing. The parts guy said that some customer called him and yelled at him for selling him mats for a 2010 Genesis that did not fit on his 2011. Although Hyundai did not make any changes from 2010 to 2011, it seems they did change the location of the anchors for the mats. He told me that Hyundai also told him to not sell the earlier mats to 2011 owners.

Anyone with a 2011 please confirm if you tried the Hyundai all-weather mats and if they fit.

Thanks

I have a 2011 Genesis which I bought the first week of September. The all weather Genesis mats I ordered from my dealer fit fine.

I bought a full set from hyundai accessory store and they fit fine. Don't know why they would change them now. Mine is a 2011

When I purchased mine from:
I recently purchased front and back branded winter rubber mats for my 4.6 sedan from ebay seller:

thall@suburbancollection.com
248-731-3361
item #320591921349/front
item #280563501063 /rear

I was asked how many posts there were holding the factory front mats in place? I was originally asked for a VIN # if to verify the correct mats. This seller was jerked around by whomever he dealt with, but I did get my mats (specify they are for the sedan!) and all is well.

I believe the hassle was a stall tactic JMHO.

I drove to a dealer having the largest selection of Genesis sedans and compared mats in 3.8 and 4.6 sedans w/my 2009....no difference.

Check out post here.

"THESE ARE SINGLE POST FRONT MATS. 2011 MODELS HAVE A RUNNING CHANGE TO A 2-POST RETAINER SET UP.
THESE MATS FIT THE SINGLE POST ONLY!"

Those who have posted that they installed the mats successfully, how many anchors/posts does your vehicle have in the drivers side floor? My 2011 has two anchors on the drivers side and one anchor and all other seats.

You are correct the 2011 Genny sedan's driver's floor has two anchors and the driver's all weather mat has only one hole.

However, the hole in the driver's mat is all that is needed to keep the mat from slipping around. Just align the hole with the right most anchor and push down with just a little bit of pressure and it will snap snugly and securely in place.

It seems Hyundai only added the additional anchor on the drivers side. My suspician is they did this to avoid mats causing (or being blamed for) unintended acceleration as happened with Toyotas. It is such a minor thing why else would Hyundai tell dealers not to sell to those with 2011 cars? It seems it was a sudden decision as not all 2011s started out with two anchors, but this is something they started doing sometime into production.

I bought the 2009 Hyundai all weather rubber floor mats (both front and rear) for my 2011 Genesis. They fit perfectly. I bought it from the dealership. I did call 3 different dealerships though. 2 of them said they didn't have the floor mats for 2011 yet but 1 dealership said 2009 will fit perfectly and that I can return them if I wanted to.

Here's a picture to show the all weather driver's mat fits just fine in the 2011 Genesis.

There's no bump where the second post is? You can't tell if the mat is raised in that area?

I was curious why the 2010 mats would not fit the 2011 models. This thread was very helpful, thanks. I also emailed WeatherTech to see when they would have a fitted set available, will post if they give me a date.

The OEM Genesis floor mats suck big time. Although they fit properly and look good they offer no protection from the elements. Calling them all weather is a joke. They are basically a flat piece of rubber therefor all the slush, snow, salt and crap just run off and onto your carpet. I highly recommend you get this. http://www.weathertech.com/store/mv...pId=52&VehId=1347&Year=2010&VehOptChoiceIds=9 This is without a doubt the ultimate in protection and can probably hold a couple of gallons. :D If you are not into ultimate protection, they also offer these which at least have channels and compartments to hold water. a custom fit and much better design than the OEM. http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=3&VehId=1347&Year=2010

Unfortunately they do not offer this for the 2011. There must be a change to the anchoring posts as mentioned above. :(

Get some Hexomats (http://www.customautoaccessories.co...esis&year=2010&product=Hexomat-Auto-Floor-Mat)

I have used these in my vehicles for years - they look great, fit well, and hold tons of water/snow/dirt. The trunk mat is also excellent.

Although nice, those little hex forms will do OK in Maryland winters but in Montreal or where there is real snow they would overflow in a week. Much larger capacity with the weathertech. All depends on your needs right? ;)
