  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have about 4100 miles on my Genesis and I've noticed that I never see any brake dust collecting on the wheels. Don't know why this is but I think it's fantastic. Anyone else notice the same or know why? Even more happy when I pass a BMW with wheels almost obscured by black brake dust.

Yup, I noticed this as well. My Lexus blackens the wheels in 50 miles after a wash.

Through all of my readings, this is one thing the Genesis is known for--far less brake dust than normal competitors. Must be the compound they are using. The only thing that makes me wonder at this point is usually with less brake dust comes more rotor wear because of the material hardness in the brakes. Time shall tell.

Likely using ceramic pads.

Both of these statements are very true. Usually, a good slotted rotor will even out pad to rotor wear ratio...It has for me at least.

Nevertheless, the brakes on my '12 V-6 are superb. I really like the way they perform.
