  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

NO HEAT ON THE FEET!

The only way I’ve found to warm my feet in, first my 2014 Genesis and now my 2019 G80, is to direct the air to the floor and crank the thermostat up to about 80.
That doesn't work worth a darn on my '16 loaded sedan. My owner's manual shows partial flow toward the foot area compared to the flow from the dash outlets, and indeed that is the case - just stick your hand down there and feel the feeble flow. The car was designed this way, something that is simply disgusting to those of us in northern latitudes - and puzzling because it certainly gets just as cold in Korea.

I can't believe that the 2015-16 "Ultimate" pkg lacks a heated steering wheel... My wife's loaded Soul Exclaim even has one!

I did Not say I didn't have a heated steering wheel. Yours doesn't?? This thread is about heat to the area under and forward of the dash - the FOOT area. Let's keep it there.

I just thought it weird on how they were kitted out - The underdash output of my 2015 really sucks as well. I just am thankful for heated seats at least. Like the above poster said - it's not like it's not cold in Korea.

A big question in my mind: Is the 2019 ANY better than the 2014? And does anyone know (and I mean Really know, they should live north of Washington, DC at least) about more recent models?

I think that it's a quirk with these cars - The wife's KIA's floor vents can roast a chicken!

Mine's like an above poster - gotta crank it up to 80 to feel any action.

Kia, huh? Hmmmmm. Does Kia have an equivalent to the G80? I know where *I* might go next!
These things, in particular, I LOVE about my sedan: Heads Up display!!! Heated steering wheel!!
Smart Cruise Control!
What I don't like: The AWD steering is not as precise as, for instance, my wife's 2014 Elantra GT. Same with the brakes - the long stroke and suddenly, with no increase in pedal pressure, you have applied more brake than you intended. I also don't like that the cruise control uses the brakes to keep the speed down when descending even a moderately steep hill. That wears out a lotta brake pad on, for instance, the Mass. (Massachusetts) Pike (I90). (western section?).
But then, I don't Think any car is perfect. (Well, maybe my '90 Riviera was....)
And here I said let's hold this to heet on the feet. Sorry, guys! I guess I needed an ear.

Has to be AWD to get the heated steering wheel.

Yeah, I know - That's daft.

The 2018 - on, RWD G80 Ultimates gained the heated rear seats. And likely the heated wheel as well.

Wonder if the rear seat floor vents get adequate heat? - I know if the rear vents are on, they'll roast your back.

Interesting question! I never ride back there, darn it! (Nor do I often have back seat riders, at least for any distance.)

Mine is 2018 RWD. I have heated rear seats, but no heated steering wheel.

Hi Joe, Where are you located and how is your "heat to the feet"? My 2016 'all options' 3.8 AWD has very poor heat to the area under and below the dash. I've been wondering about later models such as yours.

I'm on the gulf coast, so it rarely gets down to freezing here, and even then for only a few hours. I have taken a couple of trips out of state where it was a little below freezing all day. I don't have any complaints about the heat, and neither did my passengers. I may not be the best one to ask. I frequently wear flip-flops outside around the house, even in winter.

It's been cold enough in Houston for the last few days...

Yeah, it's pretty rough here now too. The low this morning is 44 and it's only supposed to get to 60 today.

My 2015 AWD has terrible foot heat/cooling. When I adjust the setting to "floor" only, the front DEFROSTER vent blows full force with minimal air flow to the footwell areas.

I have a Genesis GV60 2023 and live in the UK and found this forum as I was trying to find a solution to the pathetic flow from foot well! So I’m afraid it has not been rectified and I have already tried all the above ideas with little/no effect. I hate air blowing in my face and despite having the top vent turned off it still does it. So I’m driving with a boiling face and body to try to warm up my feet a bit. Very disappointing.

2018 G80 I have the same issues, yes there is some hot air flow to the floor, but it is very limited and inadequate! Any chance the 2025 G80 or GV80 corrects this problem?
