  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know its probably available in canada as is the all wheel drive on the 5.0 but in the states is it available on the 5.0? must it be with the ultimate package?

I know. How can they not put the heated wteering wheel and heated back seats on a 50k car. My 2015 Sonata has them both.

Both of my Hyundai's and at least one past car has/had heated seats and I've never even tried that feature out to see if it works.

Give me a good air conditioner any day.

And, the new Genesis most definitely has that.

I don't know what happened to the heated steering wheel but I find it even more odd that heated seats are ONLY available for the V6 with all wheel drive. So a Hyundai Genesis 5.0 liter ULTIMATE does not have heated rear seats? That's very strange...

for anyone who lives thru a real winter, a heated steering wheel is not a luxury. my current infiniti has it and all the competitors of the genesis sedan have it. if you have it and have never used it, its because youve never needed to.

I guess their thinking is if you need AWD then it means it will be driven in the snow/cold and therefor only offered on the AWD models. Yes all AWD models regardless of trim have both heated seats in the rear and heated steering wheel including the V8 AWD in Canada.

Last year when I was trading in my 2011 4.6 Genesis I was going to buy a 2015 (in fact had already ordered a rear wing emblem). Upon going to the dealership, a few items concerning the 2015, including this omission, compelled me to buy the 2014 RSpec which has rear heated seats and the heated steering wheel. Living in NYC, no problem with rear wheel drive in the snow we receive here. Perhaps future iterations of the Genesis will be more logically outfitted. That being said, you owners of the 2015 are driving one fine car!

Strange that. My '14 Gen 1 has rear heated seats. The kids love 'em.

Probably something Hyundai will tweak in upcoming model years.

Yeah, heated seats (as well as ventilated or cooled) are CERTAINLY nice to have...

When I bought mine, I definitely needed AWD (Chicago). I was dispappointed I could not get the 5.0 with AWD but then when I found out I could also NOT get the heated steering wheel and seat package then it was an easy decision to go 3.8 AWD. You simply cannot exist without those features here.

Right now, I am hanging out for the new EQUUS due out next summer. I hope this is going to be a ball-tearer so I can trade up.

Winter tires, a couple 40lb bags of water softener salt in the trunk, and all of a sudden, driving in snow isn't so bad.

We had the most snowfall, ever, this past winter in the Boston area. Didn't have any issues driving around.

Snow?? What's that??? :p :p

It's mother nature showing she's pissed off at the Northeast.

I would actually prefer a COOLED steering wheel. Southern Indiana in the Summer causes my steering wheel to be as hot as molten lava. I have lived in Wisconsin and a cold steering wheel is not as bad as the hot one.

On a related item, I like the heated seats but the cooling feels bad after the first minute or so.

I'm not sure the seats are technically "cooled" but they may be. I'm pretty sure there are just fans blowing air that isn't "cooled" but I could be wrong. I've only been in a couple of cars where the seats were actually "cooled" and it made a pretty big difference. Otherwise, it helps a little with moisture but you don't notice it much. Heated seats are a very different story.

I imagine a Mercedes will have the first available cooled steering wheel if it's not already an option...
