  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm a bit surprised this hasn't come up before...

I have a new 2010 G Coupe with the touchscreen NAV system. I really love how well it functions for the most part, but there are a few major shortcomings I've noticed and was wondering if anyone noticed them:

1.) No play or pause function on iPod (or in my case iPhone) or CD/MP3 Discs??? Really? What is strange is when I am streaming music via bluetooth from my iPhone, the play/ff/rew buttons appear on the touchscreen, but are useless. However, when plugged in directly through AUX via the cable, they don't appear. Seems like a major oversight/problem to me. The ability to pause a song and restart it is imperative. I just don't get why that function is absent. The same goes for playing a CD/MP3 Disc.

2.) Voice recognition- doesn't work so good. I'd like to think I have pretty clear diction. My Gennie doesn't seem to understand 90% of what I say.

3.) The address book does weird stuff when importing via bluetooth. For instance, it brings the names as last name first. Which is fine except when you want to use Voice Recognition. You have to speak it as last name first plus the first name. And if you are lucky, I mean REALLY lucky, it won't pick the first person from you list of the same last names by default. I have pretty much written off using the Voice Recognition in this vehicle.

If anyone has thoughts or suggestions, I would be happy to hear them.

I want to re-ask this. Any way (not while streaming) to pause/start playing an iPod on the touch Navi?

My 11 4.6 does not pause audio from ipod when a call comes in...I miss this from my maxima, especially when my blabbermouth boss calls me while I am on the road.

To add insult to injury. My father just bought a fully loaded Kia Sorento. Essentially being a Hyundai it is remarkably similar to the genesis in technology and function and has the same basic touch screen navigation system as my 2010 Genesis. Except, it being the 2012 it has some obvious updates, LIKE A PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON when an iPod/iPhone is being used.

It is amazing that our iPhones get updated constantly, but a 40K car never gets a software update.

GRRRRRRR!
