  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had my Genesis for about three months and I have never had any problems with the sound. I read stories here about how great the Lexicon system was and I turned up the volume several times and it was nothing to write home about. I found out why when we took a trip with another couple who sat in the back seat. There was no sound coming from the three speakers on the package shelf.

Is there a separate electrical circuit for this that might have a blown fuse or should I head for the dealer?

Thanks,

Tom

Is it safe to assume you have checked the speaker balance? Meaning, you have gone into the system settings and have made sure the output is to all of the speakers?

I did that, the little dot is smack dab in the middle of the screen:)

Hmm, that's weird. I don't think there's a separate breaker or fuse for the rear speakers only. I'm guessing it's a defective amplifier.
Definitely go to a dealer.

Set the dots for the rear speakers only. See if you hear anything. Then set the dots for just the left rear. Then the right rear.

Thats how I tested mine. At first I did not think they functioned, but doing that test, I found that they did work after all.

Yeah if it's not set wrong with the fader then the rear amp is the most likely culprit. Could be a bad remote wire, fuse, amp, etc. Contact your dealer.
