  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I believe the issue is an electrical issue? The brake must be applied to start the vehicle and your car is "sensing" the FOB is present and you have enough battery. There must be a connector to a switch or fuse connected to the brake pedal arm/mechanism that is loose or faulty? There are some very smart people on this forum that can offer better assistance with this.

What happens if you press and hold the start button for over ten seconds?

There's a 10 amp "Brake Light Switch" in your interior fuse box. I would start there.

It starts but the brake lights don’t work
Well, you have your answer then. Something in the brake light circuit has failed. Usually that will be the brake light switch itself.

I changed my brake light switch & I am still having problems starting the car. I have a 2009 Genesis 3.8. Usually worse after being parked in my garage overnight. It starts after 5 or 6 tries. What else could it be?

Did you change the 10 Amp fuse mentioned previously?

Alright so update my mechanic said that its something going on that shuts off half my junction relay box on my drivers side causing the no start can anyone lmk wat it is

No. I’ll try that & let you know.
All 10 amp fuses are fine. I checked battery cables. They’re secure. I started pushing the brake pedal as far as it will allow me to. It’s been starting, but I dont think it’s normal.

The brake switch is pretty cheap and easy to replace. It may be worth just doing that.
