I picked up my new platinum V8 with tech package yesterday. I've been lusting after the Genesis V8 for over a year and finally pulled the trigger.
Very impressed with the build quality. I moved up from an 06 Sonata LX that I thought was a nice car.
This is my first true premium car. Very impressed with the car. With the dealers, not so much.
Some were pretty slimy - one was charging $799 for the wing emblems plus another $800 for fabric protection! Most were desperately trying to sell at sticker or maybe $1000 off. Then the add on fees - highest was $499 for "processsing".
I finally found an "honest" dealer that would sell at invoice plus tax and tag. Sigh. Alas they didn't want to make a decent offer for my Sonata on trade, so I decided to keep it rather than just give it away. It may find a home thru Craigslist.
I'm mulling getting a Clearshield film put on the car. I can get that for $675. Other than that, I'm planning on cranking up my carbon footprint.
