  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No TPMS or digital speedo after latest software/nav update (2023 G70 2.0T SP). Why?

Hey gang, just did the software update on my 1-day-old 2023 G70 2.0T SP. It wasn't listed, so had to use '2020-2022 G70', but it's the same thing, so don't think that's it. And everything went well; I was there when it finished, and clicked on 'changes', and it listed the nav and radio changes, but nothing about removing those options from the menu where they were. Now that menu only shows trip 1; that's it. And the '+' circle, to invoke the driver assistance menu on the infotainment, which works fine. But the 2nd trip, TPMS, and digital speedo windows are now gone. What the heck could have happened? Am I the only one with that issue? I hope I'm missing something stupid, but don't see how. Thank you.

Maybe it is not the same thing? Can you verify it is?

Same 10.25" 5W infotainment as 2022. It's an old platform about to get dumped for an EV, so Hyundai wasn't going to change it again; just the software. Plus it still had the freaking nixie tubes, so common sense dictates it can't be a new 10.25" system with the old tubes, no? Called CS and no answer, so sent a message to Genesis. Will wait for a reply, but in the mean time, hope 2021+ owners can chime in if this happened or not, just to know I'm the only one (or not). Everything else is working as it should. Plus that shouldn't affect something like that to begin with, so scratching my head over how that happened.

I need to remove the spare to inflate it, and to place a compressor and jumper in that cavity (if safe), and could disconnect the battery if needed, to see if that resets anything. But will wait for Genesis response. Hopefully not the 'take it to dealer' crap I suspect they'll say. Might be an issue with the file itself, so will try to call tomorrow as well. Will update my thread with any new info.

Update. Genesis CS was absolutely no help, as I expected. Don't even know what the hell they're doing there. They just tell you to call dealer or Autoever. So I called Autoever, and similar crap: That Hyundai changed the car completely for 2023 (riiiiiight!), so I needed to get the old software reloaded at a dealer.

Anyway, here comes the good (and weird) news: I drove the car today, and after switching to my profile, BAM!, everything is back to normal (trip 1, trip 2, TPMS, digital speedo). WTF? But nice, nonetheless. Ha ha. Switched back to my wife's profile, and same thing: just trip 1. So it probably was like that before, but the only way to know, is that an owner of a 2022 with, and without the latest software gives it a try, and report back if the 2nd profile has access to TPMS and digital speedo, to know if it's just my car, or normal. The good news is I don't have to take the car to a dealer, but curious if all others have this weird behavior. Maybe when the next update that will include 2023s that comes in the fall will correct that. We'll see. Thanks guys.

No word from any of you if your 2020+ G70 with the latest software update has TPMS and digital speedo with the 2nd profile. If not, then it's normal, and there's nothing to do for now. If yes, then I'm thinking of doing a infotainment reset to see if it clears it... but only if I don't lose all my settings. Do you lose settings with a reset or not? I'd do it now if not, to see what happens. But happy everything works normally with my profile. Thank you.

My remote services phone call for conversion to paid subscription told me to turn the car on and off three times in succession then do the paperclip in the reset hole and then it should work properly with no loss of presets. Just thinking if this might be another technique.

Okay, just went out, and tried 3 on/off cycles, then reset button, and no dice. Profile #2 still just trip 1. Can somebody with the latest software on a 2020+ please try? I'm almost sure it's 'normal', but want to know for sure. Thank you.

EDIT: Just for the heck of it, tried the 'guest' profile, and it's just like mine, with everything there. WTF? At this point, I'm almost sure resetting her profile should restore those menu items, but will wipe out everything. Oh well. Will give it a try and report back. Wish me luck (or luck for my wife. Ha ha).

EDIT2: Reset profile 2 to factory settings, and same crap. It has to be a glitch in the software IMO, but need at least 1 more owner with the latest update to either confirm, or disprove that, please. In summary, profile 1 and guest work perfectly fine, but profile 2 only show trip 1 (no TPMS, digital speedo, trip 2, drive info, or driver alert status). Thank you.

Got a little more into this issue, and found out my profile (#1) has 7 TRIP sub-menus (2 trips, engine temp, attention alert, TPMS, digital speedo, and the greenish '+' sign). Profile #2 has only 2 (1 trip, and the '+' sign). And 'guest' profile has 6 sub-menus (all of #1 minus digital speedo). That's really weird. I'm almost sure it's a software issue, but nobody here wants to help, so will just call Autoever (aka map'n soft), and alert them of the issue for next revision. If others happen to notice the same thing, at least they'll know they're not the only ones.

Tried solving the issue trying to retrieve my wife's seat/wheel/mirror settings by clicking the #2 memory when in my profile, but only the mirrors move, and way down (WTF?). So that's not an option. My wife uses Apple CarPlay (I don't), so having only my phone paired to my profile is not an issue, since whichever phone you connect via ACP, takes over. I could pair her phone as a 2nd one, I think, but that's not needed. She doesn't like to use Bluetooth anyway. But if she can't retrieve her memory settings under my profile, it's not going to work. I have 2 options: Try storing her settings again as memory #2 under my profile, and see what happens... but that's where they were initially. If that doesn't work, then I'd delete her profile, and try again her seat/wheel/mirror settings as memory #2 on my profile, and hopefully that should do it. What a mess. She doesn't complain, but seems stupid not to have access to engine temp, TPMS, and digital speedo. Will report what works (if anything).

Final update. Reported the issue to Autoever/Map'nSoft, and they took note of profile discrepancies, and will try to correct that for the next update due in the fall. In the mean time, did what everybody else probably does, and that's why they don't have any more complaints about that. Reset to both driver 2 and guest to factory specs, and added my wife's seat/wheel/mirror settings on memory #2 under driver 1 profile (like it has to be done in most other vehicles), and it worked like a charm, so problem solved. I only had to enable CarPlay for my wife, but will charge my phone from the center console now, so that won't affect me at all. And changed the driver 1 name to 'Genesis G70', so she doesn't feel bad about her car. Ha ha. Will report back until the new update is downloaded.

We might change that same method on the Santa Fe, to make it the same, but will ask her in a few weeks if she wants that or not, as she seldom drives the SF now anyway. I rather not touch the screen. Ha ha.
