I just got check engine light. Computer shows ODBII CODE P0841. I need a shop/ mechanic referral preferably in Queens or Long Island NY which is knowledgeable and affordable to help out on this issue. TIA

There is an update of the transmission firmware to specifically adress this problem. I don't think mechanic can do it without GDS and VCI.
Can't attach the tsb though as 370kb attachment is over the limit of the forum

Interesting that is says "ONLY" after installing a new or re manufactured 8-speed transmission. Wonder what year the OP has and if the car has an 8-speed transmission.

The Hyundai 8-speed transmission was used on Genesis sedan starting with the 2012 MY. OP doesn't seem to say which MY he has, but probably 2012-2014.

Had that update done.. code was P0841 and hasn't come back but car still shifts terribly. Although it was worse before (sliding in and out of gear and banging into). It's still a mess. I'm headed back to the dealership tomorrow morning to have them work on it more.. replace the trans. fluid pressure switch I guess. I am horrified, I bought this car 14 days ago and its been broken for half that time. Any advice certainly welcome.
