  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was getting excited the other week when I saw a TV commercial for Hyundai and a new zero percent finance plan. I had to read fast but I caught, in small print, the Genesis was excluded from the offer. That's too bad. I'm gonna wait a little longer just in case Hyundai has a change of heart. My gut tells me that as long as the Genesis is selling well, they won't offer any incentives. The good news is I don't need to buy a car just yet. :)

The Genesis was also excluded from the special financing/cash-back plan that ended on Jan 5th, 2009, so don't hold your breath. General consensus is that people who can afford the Genesis are not as sensitive to interest rates (monthly payments), otherwise they would be purchasing a different car.

If the economy recovers at all, then Genesis sales will do very well, and the price will creep up (and dealers will be less likely to deal). I read that the Genesis sold in Korea is priced at the equivalent of $57,000 and that Hyundai is temporarily buying market share until the brand gets established in the US, and then prices will increase.

If the economy (and stock market) deteriorates significantly from here, then maybe final negotiated price you can get with a dealer will fall slightly or stay the same.

Reading this makes me think that those of us who jumped on this early made a wise choice. With all of the accolades piling up for this car, I can see Hyundai making gradual increases to price to increase profit. I really would be surprised to see any advertised discounts, zero percent for instance. Leaving your only deals off of MSRP at the dealership.

The lease deal is almost 0% interest. Lease the car for 27 months and then see what happens at leasae end. You may/may not want to buy the car, but its pretty much 0%.

If you have great credit you can still get a very good interest rate even with everything that is going on.
