  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm looking for any suggestions on diagnosing a noise I have post-spring install. Its a 2020 G70 3.3 AWD Sport (Canada).
It also already had subframe rigid collar kit installed prior to the lowering springs.

I had a former Hyundai mechanic perform the install of my Eibach Prokit springs so I can relay questions to him to get more info from the install if need be.

After the install, there was noise coming from front and rear of the car, like knocking when going over any type of bump or uneven surface (our roads are pretty lousy so a smooth consistent road is rare to come by). He instantly knew what the front noise was; one side's shock was like half a thread looser than the other side's so he retorqued it after counting threads from both sides and the front noise went away.

The rear however was less annoying and less loud of a noise, but still a noise fairly consistently. Throughout winter it would get better on the warmer days, but now that it is springtime and warm out consistently it is noisy again almost all of the time when going over any kind of uneven road or bumps. It sounds like something is moving or bumping, knocking etc. but can't feel it and doesn't sound loud or harsh. Sounds more like when swaybar endlinks are shot and they get loud and annoying.
I had my mech check out the rear spring assemblies again for this noise and he couldn't find anything that was loose or out of ordinary.

Any help is appreciated :]

Edit: Roughly 2 weeks after the install I had the wheels aligned no problem, but the rear end noise didn't change at all then either.

Bump... still having this issue

Update: FINALLY fixed this noise. My last idea to check was the top nut tightness on the strut, but its not accessible without pulling the strut out. So while about to do that, my mech noticed that the shock dust boot wasn't as greased up as the other side's and was moving around due to being dried up. He greased it and set it back in its place, and the noise is gone. Unbelievable.
