Intermittent problem with car not starting - has happened in the past but not for a long time. Then the other day, in the blazing sun - could not start it. The brake pedal almost seizes and will not depress and after many tries, called a tow truck and found some shade. After 20 minutes of waiting, tried again and lo and behold, she started. Canceled the tow truck and went straight to Hyundai and mentioned the brake switch (which I read about here). They put the car through the GDS scan and nothing was found. They changed the brake fluid and sent me home .... now what? I'll bet it will happen again!
 
You can always bypass the brake switch by holding the start button for ~10 seconds if it happens again, and take a video for documentation.

Also wouldn't pressing the Shift Lock release at the gear box bypass it as well?

Not saying it's a great solution but at least you don't have to get towed. Get out that smart phone next time and document it. Seems that you have a bad break switch as you mentioned.
