Not a great morning

So I'm supposed to be able to pick up my Genesis tomorrow morning. That will be 1 day shy of 3 weeks - to get 4 wheels put on my car! I can't state how unhappy I am with the service I received at this body shop.

First I get the call that he saw my car didn't have TPMS. After I got off the phone I looked it up, and TPMS comes standard on every Genesis. All he had to do was 5 seconds of research. I was supposed to get it last Friday, but he called and said that the last wheel (they had 3, were waiting on 1 more at this point) was supposed to be in Friday morning, but now it's scheduled for the afternoon. Because of this they don't think they would have enough time to get them on and do all the maintenance that is required.

I just want my car back, and I'm going to wash my hands with this body shop. Hopefully I won't ever have to visit one ever again, but if I do - I'll find another place!

Did you get new wheels? Getting wheels from various places sounds like they are salvage wheels. If they are be sure to check them for a bend or surface damage before installation or the body shop may say they came that way and won't take responsiblity for damage thay may do to a wheel(s).

Don't necessarily think that wheel locks will always save you. I have noticed on several occasions I have taken my other vehicles to the dealership with the wheel lock key for my wheels sitting in my garage. They had no issues with getting the wheels off the car. I believe they have a way of getting the wheels off without the key. Whether with a master key or some special lug wrench tool.

Wheels locks just slow the thieves down a little. While at the same time potentially causing a little more damage to your studs.

First off sorry to the OP - I've had this happen before and it's sickening.

2nd - If you have factory wheel locks, typically the dealer will have a set of master keys they use in the shop. But you are correct in that the locks will only slow down a thief if he knows what he's doing..

Here is a fun fact... Working at a dealership... Yes we do have a master set which consists of about 12 different keys. Honda has about 20... Not sure about any other manufacturer. Therefore, I am going to buy wheel locks... But I want them to be an off-brand cheap random unheard of set. Because all these guys need to do is aquire a master set and go on a rampage of jacking wheels. Don't buy a set from a store in your STATE. If you live on the east coast, find wheel locks that they only send to the west coast =)

Good info/idea . . . . . . . . . but you don't want the locks to be too cheap. I had some once that rusted on the studs. They basically became matted/welded to the stud. Yes, they were very cheap. But in the end, they ended up costing me some dollars and time to get the studs replaced.

Well.. dude, was that a serious question or were you just trying to throw me a sucker punch regarding my parking?
Not that I have to explain to you why I was parked that way, but if you can see to the left of my car, there are plenty of parking spaces up to that dumpster that are NOT USED 99.99% of the time. Plus, the spot on the right is UNUSABLE due to junks piled up against the wall of the parking bay.

I understand that those who take 2 spots on a busy parking lot can be labeled as an egomaniac SOB, and FYI, I NEVER do that on public parking lots.
I'd rather park further away from the building in ONE SPOT, between the lines.

You're not one of those who intentionally park really close right next to nice cars that are parked further away, are you? 'Cause I despise those breeds.

My apologies for the angry tone, then.
Someone mentioned the exact same thing about the parking spot on another forum.
I was not in a good mood at that time and your comment somewhat brought me back the bad memories.
It's been over a year since it happened, and I shouldn't have to be angry about it. Sorry.
