  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm the extremely happy owner of a 2025 GV70. I see tons of posts about chrome delete but can't find any good advice on making it more chromed out.

I plan on getting some new rims. Likely some 15-20 spoke polished silver.

The front top grill seems to be some kind of dark chrome, and I'd like it to be shinier but it's okay if not. I'd REALLY like the bottom grills to also be chrome. There's no decent chrome plastidip out there and I don't think you can vinyl wrap something like that, can you?

Last thing... I didn't want the size or extra features of the GV80 but I REALLY like the side vent molding on those. Obviously I can't get actual vents done but I'm wondering how chrome vinyl fakes might look.

Happy to be part of the Genesis family! I gave up my Lucid Air for it and don't regret it one bit.

It would look tacky and fake to car guys/gals. Don't do it.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your Genesis GV70. I'm glad you found us. :)

Lucid Air! Very nice... I like those cars quite a bit. What was your experience with it? And how are you liking the GV70 in comparison?

I'm with you on the chrome. I really love chrome. But you CAN over-do it. I like those GV80 side vents as well... They probably wouldn't look out of place on the GV70. I think the front vents would probably look good if they matched the grille in the center.

The vents may be good, but please, stop short of making it a 1958 Buick

Hey, man, I kinda like classic Buicks! :p
You mean the day when you could tell what the brand of car was from a quarter mile away? From about 1957 to 1961, some of the best car styles appeared and you never confused what is was. Back in about 1998 the owner of our company bought a Caddy Catera. As I pulled into the lot the morning after, my thought was "who parked a Toyota in his spot?" That did not happen in the 50s

I mean, obviously the Air is a different animal. But I'm really enjoying the GV70 for what it is: an amazingly comfortable luxury ride with great features and pep. The screen in the air wasn't as big, the key fob sucked, and the random little tech issues were a pain. But man that thing drove so freaking amazing. It was a dream to drive.

That said... I figured I'd hate the difference in power/torque/speed. But the GV70 has a ton of pep even with the 2.5L. I did put a JB4 on it, 93 octane gas and map 2 is great. All I need now is to replace the plugs.

Haha, I love those things though!

For the chrome on the lower grill, I love the way it looks on the electrified G80s and on this one:

That dark chrome on the top grill of the GV70 on the lower grill would look distinguished as can be.

Welcome to the forum. My 2025 GV70 looks exactly like yours — same color and rims, though I’m not sure about the spec.

The question is: why do you want to replace the spark plugs? Or there are some other plugs you have on mind?

It's required per Burger Tuning when you install a JB4 and run Map 2 (93 Octane fuel) or higher. They recommend racing plugs gapped to .022. I'm going with stock HKS M45XLs (their recommendation) gapped to .028 by default Amazon.com: HKS M45 Super Fire Iridium Spark Plugs 4 Pack Compatible with 2008-15 Mitsubishi Evolution X : Automotive

Oh, yeah, absolutely... It's no wonder nobody (generally) cares about cars anymore...

Oh, man, I could have got you a deal on a JB4... But, yeah - the GV70 has a nice mixture of power and fuel economy - especially with the JB4 (as long as you're not always flooring it :p). I really though Lucid was going to take off. I love the way they look.
