Well, I don't get it. The coupe has 3.8 and lots of performance parts, the new v6 gets performance parts. Of course the 5.0 get them too.
But why not the 3.8 sedan?? I'm not looking for big power gains, but an aftermarket exhaust, and a cold air intake would be nice. And a nice ecm tune to go with those minor upgrades.. I mean, I know its "luxury" but Id like a little more umph.. lol.
I know, should of gotten the 5.0.. well, I could not find one with less the 100k on the clock already.

I don't know where you're getting this from but there is no aftermarket parts for the 5.0 sedan. I, myself have a 15' 5.0 and finding parts for my car is like finding a missing child at Costco. When it comes to exhaust, Magnaflow might have something. They did have something for the 5.0 but not at $1,500 do I think its justifiable. I went custom and love it.

When it comes to your 3.8 sedan, you may want to go custom as well. I can't think of any sites or brands that would make exhaust kits for you. Air intakes are more abundant. Look into K&N or even Injen and Airaid. I so happened to find a intake for the 5.0 at G4werkz.com. But they wont be available til early next year. BloodTypeRacing has a tune for our cars. But once again, gains would be minimal and I can't see the price they are asking to be worth it. Plus having to send in your ECU for x number of days while your car becomes a beautiful paper weight on 4 wheels isn't fun. Enjoy the car for what it is. Hope this helps.
 
Well. You have a couple of options with the 5.0. Dont get me wrong I am happy with my car. But I like to make it my own. I will have to just find a different way.
Also, I'm not gonna send my ecm out.. so I will do custom exhaust, and see what else I can do.

Well. Thats a bit much, but the heads and intake are different on the coupes.. not sure why..
But I would still drive it... lol

Heads and intake are probably where the extra 37 hp comes from. Swap those out and get an exhaust shop to build you a cat back and you may see an extra 45-50 hp total, maybe a little more with one of the canned tunes.
 
I don't understand. You buy the lowest performance model Genesis makes and then complain that no one makes high performance parts for it. How does that make sense?

Well in truth, I was looking for the 5.0. But none in the state of Fl with less then 100k miles on it.
Im complaining, not that i want the 5.0 power, but for just a little more uuumph and customization.
I would be happy If i could find someone to do a tune, to get rid of the gas pedal lag and the transmission lag.

How bad is it on the v6? I've gotten used to it on the 5.0 but it is aggravating. It has too many gears and won't downshift fast enough in manual mode, you have to put it in auto to pass in a hurry but there's still a delay and it drops too many gears. It'll kick down to a gear that's too low at a very high rpm before it upshifts and starts pulling good, in manual mode it works the way it should other than downshifting too slow.

Unfortunately its about the same.. and if you want it to just drop a gear to speed up, forget about it. More pressure on accelerator and it drops 2 gears.. smh

I hear the thing for the gas pedal works good. So i my get one after i recoup from xmas.

I've read good things here and not so good things on a genesis coupe forum, theirs may have a small enough delay from the factory not to need it though. I don't think it will affect what percentage of throttle the computer sees, only how fast it sees it. If that's the case it won't keep it from acting any different than it already does when it sees x% of throttle.

All the threads inevitably have some know it all who wants to tell someone that they should have done this or that, or IDK buy a completely different car!? Seriously man, don't be that guy. Since you clearly have the super duper 5.0 billy big balls engine and lord over everyone, save us trouble and don't talk to us lowly peons lol

Uh oh, I have pissed the new guy! Now I am in trouble, what ever will I do? My original question still stands, why buy the lower model and then put in lots of time and money trying to make it something it never was? By the way I don't have 5.0, if you bothered to look you would notice that I listed my model...
P.S. Just to really piss you off, I paid cash for mine when I bought it new....
