Noticed something weird today on my Genesis......

I have had my Genesis 2 years now and just noticed something strange on the Drivers side Floormat area. The Floor Mat has a hole in it that fits on the peg on the floor to hold it in place. However there are 2 Pegs on the floor and only 1 hole in the floormat. The passenger side has only 1 peg on the floor.

Can anyone explain this? IOW - Are there different floormats for the Genesis?

Cut-Throat, I recently purchased a 2011 4.6 which didn't come with floor mats. I called my local dealer to order a set and the parts girl asked me if I had one or two pegs on the drivers side. Mine as two, which I advised her. My mats came in and the drivers side mat had two holes that matched the pegs on the floorboard. So, yes the mats can be different.

Sounds to me like the dealer pull the old "where did the floormats go?!" "IDK take them out of that one". Happens a lot more than one likes to admit

And yeah, the dealer pulled the ol' switch-a-roo on my mats too - gave me the regular GENESIS ones instead of the R SPEC ones. I drove an hour to get the right ones.

And yeah, the dealer pulled the ol' switch-a-roo on my mats too - gave me the regular GENESIS ones instead of the R SPEC ones. I drove an hour to get the right ones.

The additional hole was added on the 2011 models. My 2010 had single holes and I recall the discussions regarding weathertech mats who have different listings from 2010-2011 models. Plus the fact I have a perfect set of front weather tech in my attic for my previous 2010 with single holes on the drivers side.

Mine is same as yours. So maybe hyundai switched mat supplier and design before the car's floor pins were changed.

Well, I ordered a new set of Mats for a 2011 Genesis and they fit perfect! 2 Hole drivers side.

I think what happened is that I got one of the first 2011 Genesis in the country back in Aug of 2010, and they put 2010 floor mats in my car, as that is what they had available.
