  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I won't have one of those Nannies in my car!

I agree 100%. Insurance co's are incredibly clever in coming up with ways to zap people.

A few years ago, I leased a new car. And, at Ins. renewal time, the insurance co. told me that the lease constituted an installment loan and that my credit was dinged because: 1) it was a "new" loan, and 2), a large balance was outstanding. The idea being, of course that any perceived bad credit would justify a rate increase.

These was all pure bunk, but it illustrates how ins. co.'s can operate to make a quick buck. And when I complained to the state ins. commission, they told me it was tough luck, and If I didn't like it, get a different co.

Back to the topic: Any sort of data mining/gathering by insurance co.'s sounds like the old saying -- "The government is going to help you".

I didn't install anything from an insurance company ... but what's the difference? all the data is already being captured anyway; why would you deny yourself access to it?....

Because you don't need it.
