  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Observations of my Genesis after 1400 mile Road trip.

1.) Seats were very comfortable driving over 500 miles a day. I love this car even more after the flawless road trip. The Trunk was huge and helped a lot as we had a lot of stuff!

2.) Smart Cruise Control is very nifty and very smart. It can detect if a car cuts you off and is accelerating – the cruise will not slow down. It will apply brakes if necessary. This is a very cool feature. And safe too! – If a car ahead of you applies the brakes and his brakelights are out or covered with mud, the cruise will brake also and this alerts you.

3.) 70 mph average – got between 26-27 MPG. Premium Gas.

4.) Did not see another Genesis on the entire road trip, until I got to Florida. I have seen more Genesis in the last few days than the previous 8 months.

5.) Others may know this already but I have learned a lot more about the Navigation System, the integration with Bluetooth phone is very neat! – Find a hotel and the system dials it for you! My Lexus probably does this, but I’ve never had it on a long road trip.

I'd rate the whole experience a "10".:)

Haven't had the chance for a long road trip, but I do enjoy driving the Genesis.
Thanks for sharing your experience on a long road trip.

Glad to hear about your "10"-rated road trip, Cut-Throat! Besides point #2 (mine's an '09), I gotta tell ya... I heartily concur on all points!!

Within its class, the Genesis reigns supreme when it comes to highway cruisers. Adding MSRP into the comparison makes it stand out as the world beater it's slowly becoming in the eyes of the general populous. Enjoy it, folks. :D

Glad to hear! I haven't had the pleasure of a long road trip in mine yet, only trips of 100 miles or less so far.

we got our 2011 Genesis 4.6 in September and now have just under 12000 miles on it and still love the car. Its been on several road trips and a 10 is what I would say also. the cruise control is great and stereo system is fantastic. Voice command is so easy in navigation mode.

1.) I found the same to be true. On extended trips, I arrive far less fatigued in our Genny. Not so sure it is just the seats, though. The Genny is easy to drive at 70+ as it tracks like an arrow and steers like laser guided missle. Sorry to disagee about the trunk, though ... ours is too small ... we are used to Lincoln Town Car trunks.

2.) Don't have that feature and wish we did.

3.) I have seen as high as 28 mpg on one long trip segment, but generally it is closer to 24.

4.) I see them here in Naples FL and have seen a few on trips.

5.) The nav systems works fine but my map data base is 3+ years old. Hyundai has yet to resolve this issue with our car ... lots of nice emails but no action from the dealer.

I'd rather take a long road trip in our Genny than any other car that we have owned.

I didn't realize that the SCC would actually apply the brakes. Cool. Makes you wonder how difficult it would be to turn this into a collision-avoidance system that would alert you and even brake if the car ahead slowed suddenly, even without the cruise on.

I've taken two extended trips in my Genesis. The first one covered just over 8000 miles from Georgia to Missouri to Minnesota, Washington, south, into Las Vegas etc. The second trip was shorter - about 1500 miles to Missouri and back. The trunk gets full, but we get great mileage and we arrive in comfort. This is the best trip car I've owned.
