  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As an heads up, the manual update that dropped two days ago is a newer software version than the OTA you may have recently downloaded to your car.

Update Notice Link: Download Link: Navigation Updater | Official Genesis Navigation Update Website

The SW update history is as follows:
JW.USA.ccIC.001.001.220311 (Shipping SW)
JW.USA.ccIC.001.002.220801 (October OTA Update)
JW.USA.ccIC.001.003.221021 (October Manual Update)

Be sure to download the update manually if you don't want to wait for the OTA to occur who knows when. HMG has got to get their OTA game together.

It looks like JW.USA.ccIC.001.002.220801 (OTA Update) fixed the Celsius bug, along with the missing Battery Pre-Conditioning icon. Post any other fixes/upgrades you noticed here.

Edit: Here are a few changes I noticed going from 220801->221021:

The traditional instrument gauge with center widget enabled now has the same standard background, instead of previously black:

The Vehicle Settings screen is now extra fancy looking and is animated:

There is now a greyed out "Highway Lane Change Assist," which is a strange choice given they should've hidden it altogether if a vehicle does not have HDA2.

"Smart Support" setting now saves and retains properly instead of resetting to unchecked when the vehicle is restarted. (Nvm, the car lied to me about this one, it unchecked itself after a second reboot)

There's no more "Reference Mode" setting in Sound Settings. Surround appears to be the only mode, with minimum value as "1." The audio quality coming from the system also perceivably improved, though I'm not sure if the improvement came from v220801 or v221021.

"EV Charging Stations" has been added to the Navigation screen, instead of being found exclusively under the EV screen:

OTA updates are always done in batches....think of smartphones, watches etc. They are always released gradually. So gives them time to iron out any bugs before mass release. Not sure why everyone here seems so surprised that some have had the update and some haven't. Very normal with any technology.

I know this very well. What's not normal here is the older OTA update barely completed it's rollout prior to a new software update dropping.

Aren't they two different updates? Isn't that a good thing that updates are happening quickly. It's likely the last few months have been prioritising shipments of actual cars. Now that both the gv70 and gv80 are also released, more time and effort will be spent on updates.

They also may not have quite finished the fixes for battery and temperature and instead of delaying an update...they released it and released another as soon as the other fixes were completed. I only see this as a positive sign. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 at least they are listening to the feedback and acknowledging the issues.

That's the point of this post. A lot of people may have completed a recent OTA and thought they have the newest version, when in fact there is an immediate subsequent manual update.

How do I get this update manually? Happy to try it!

That makes sense. Just seeing a lot of posts or comments regarding this at the moment. Seemed a little confusing.

Thanks for the detailed post. Glad to hear you’re feeling better about the sound system. I’ll listen closely to see if I notice any difference. I was listening to a podcast on the way in this morning, and nothing was apparent there. :)

I’ve listened to a few songs since the update. The only difference I think I’m hearing is that the music seems more full while the Beosonic settings are centered. In the past, I’ve been tempted to add one touch of bass in the past, it doesn’t seem necessary now

Yep, since the update, the bass decay time has reduced drastically, making it sound much crisper rather than a muddied mess like before. The power of the sub has never been an issue, I always did and still do turn the bass down significantly in the EQ.

A couple of new changes I noticed since yesterday:

The tailight in the display now lights up when the brakes are applied. Interestingly the horizontal light bar doesn't light up. Strange miss of a detail, but better than nothing.

There's now an option to choose general brake characteristics between "Comfort" or "Sport."

Now you can set the ESC to be entirely disabled in My Drive Mode.

In my Advanced model, after the update, I see the brake lights go on when I'm in Auto regen level 3, but if I just put on the brakes with no regen, put the car in level 0, I don't see the brake lights when I apply them. Very strange. Hopefully my brake lights are working.

Looks like the brake lights display in dash is programmed (unintentionally or otherwise) to display regen braking only. It doesn't display as on during low speed scenarios and/or when the vehicle is stopped and the brakes are applied.

It's a very strange design choice. Just like how Regen Level 0 completely disables regen, instead of having a "Regen Level Off" setting instead and leaving Level 0 on neutral regen.

Wow! You either have some freakishly high attention to detail or have spent hours going through the menus. Either way, you'd fit perfectly in the Law department where I work. :)

I know this is a stupid question but where can I find the SD card port/slot?

This was there before, at least in Canada it was. I can’t imagine how the reaction would be in Sport, I’ve had to tap the brakes due to someone cutting in & it’s almost put me through the windscreen, antilocks firing, wow.

I don't think there is an SD slot. You have to use the USB3 slot ...the one most on the left of the 12V 'lighter' outlet below the dash in the middle of the car

Hahaha unfortunately I'm both detail oriented and work with contracts. :ROFLMAO:
