Been here awhile...
Warren Brown - whose car columns I read every week in the Post and whose opinions I generally agree with - has a column today that strikes me as a little peculiar: http://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...p-its-no-bmw/2011/10/11/gIQAV8HrjL_story.html.
In brief, he has many good things to say about the car, but the articles stresses more than once, "...but it's not a BMW." Seems to me that if you want to spend Equus level money but want a BMW you could just buy one. I don't think most Equus buyers really wanted a BMW but instead settled for an Equus. I owned one BMW, purchased new, that was constantly in the shop and incredibly expensive to own. I think I put more miles on loaners than on my own car, and I swore I'd never have another one.
