  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Instrument panel cluster which includes the odometer on my "09 Genesis and was replaced by dealer. Unfortunately the new display does not include the previous total millage. Dealer check with Hyundai and reported there is no way to include the previous miles in the total odometer reading.

Does any one know of an available solution.

Are you kidding? I want a new display!!!!
Solution? Many "free" miles ahead!

hmm. i didnt know the actual odometer stored that type in information. seeing that everything is digital nowadays, i would have figured it would be stored on the ECU oro another computer. ive disconnected my odometer before and plugged it back in but the milage didnt erase.

i think this could have the potential to end up as a very big problem for hyundai: people could just swap out odometers, put the car on the market, and sell it for a hell of a lot more. its illegal but thats not going to stop some people.

I suspect that you have to replace the entire instrument cluster. There may be some reporting if that is done, that can be retrieved via CarFax, but just guessing.

Did any of the numbers in odometer change color?
