  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

20180605_094959.webp20180605_094959.webpThese are the gaskets that came with the Hyundai oil filter. I know about the large rubber gasket and the metal crush gasket for the drain plug, but what about the two small rubber gaskets??? My Santa Fe didn't have any small rubber gaskets and when I took the genesis filter out this morning, there were no small rubber gaskets.?.?.?

Some of the 2010-2011 filters for the Genesis used one of the small O-rings on the canister wand (2009 used a different filter). They use the same oil filter for multiple vehicles and engines, and not all the O-rings or washers are needed on all engines. The correct part number for the 2013 3.8 Genesis Sedan is 26320-3C30A.

Here are some of the other vehicles that use that same part number, with slightly different oil filter housing designs, and different o-ring requirements:

Thank you. I did not use the 2 small rubber gaskets. Oil change went well. I put in Valvoline 5 -30 Full Synthetic. My dealer puts in a synthetic blend.

Correct. I looked at the parts catalog for the 2013 V6 and it only shows using the large o-ring.

5W-30 full synthetic is perfect for that engine. I use Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 from Walmart. In the spring and fall, Mobil 1 usually offers a nice rebate on motor oil, but you have to google to find the rebate link.

I have always used the small gasket with the larger I.D. (upper most right in the picture) to replace the old gasket ring on the filter housing drain plug. I always figured it was there to use and fits so why not. Never any leaks for me.

As I mentiond above, not all vehicles that use the same filter, also use the smaller O-rings.
