  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i have a 2015 genesis with ultimate package with 28k now bought with 26k miles ,i did buy the wrap coverage . how often should i change oil ? and with the wrap warranty is any of this covered ? i was told that they will come to your house and get it and return it
thanks

Hyundai does not offer the valet service (come to your house and get the car for maintenance or warranty service, and then return it) on the 2009-2016 Hyundai Genesis Sedan (only on the 2011-2016 Hyundai Equus models).

Genesis Motors offers the valet service on all of their models (G80 and G90) starting with 2017 model year. However, that only applies to original owners, unless it is a warranty repair, and only for first 3 years or 36K miles.

If your dealer is providing free valet service on their own for your 2015 Hyundai Genesis, that is between you and them, and does not involve Hyundai Motor America. Likewise, oil changes are not included for any Hyundai Genesis models (2009-2016) by Hyundai Motor America, unless you dealer is doing that on their own. Free routine maintenance is provided for Genesis Motors G80 and G90 Models for 3 years or 36K miles, but only to original owners (but not sure about CPO cars).

You may be confused by some of this, because the 2015-2016 Hyundai Genesis Sedan is virtually identical to the 2017 Genesis Motors G80.

While your car is under warranty, oil change interval is 7500 miles or one year, whichever comes first, unless you operate under severe conditions (then do it twice as often). All of this is explained in the Owner's Manual (and other guides), which you can download in PDF format by registering at www.myhyundai.com

thanks for the info , good to get cleared up
thanks again

We’ve purchased the service plan that basically is oil / filter. changes, which here in Arizona we’ve had done every 6 months, mainly because of our extreme summer heat.
Cheap insurance. Once these are done I plan on switching to Mobile 1 synthetic 5-20

For the 5.0 V8, 5W-20 is specified. 0W-20 is also fine. But in Arizona, I might want to consider 5W-30.

For the 3.8 V6, 5W-30 is specified.

My local dealer has specified if synthetic oil is used, then you can stick to the 7500 mile interval. I usually buy 0W20 Pennzoil or Quaker State (which ever is cheaper with a online coupon). Walmart is by far the cheapest.

i may let the dealer do the first one , if they do it what oil do you think they will use ? i dont want to do anything might void my warranty ,
like i said it only had 28k now , i need to look back and see when it was done last

thanks

Why not call and ask? They know better than any of us here. They will use an oil that meets specification for your car.

I don't agree with that. From what members have posted on this forum, at least some dealers (and probably most) are not using oils rated ACEA A5 for the G80 and G90 V6 (regular and Turbo). The only oils I have seen that meet that specification are 5W-30 synthetic oils, although some synthetic blends "may" be OK.
