  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

That's about as far as it'll go. Seems to be something mechanical in the way. I have tried rotating it in all directions, and using enough force to bend the cable. Any ideas?

I would assume something In The oil pan is keeping the dipstick from completely seating in the tube,I suggest having the dealer service department dropping the pan and checking for an loose splash plate that keeps the oil from foaming up.or whatever they call it.it may have come loose and is blocking the tube.

From what I noticed you have to rotate the dipstick as you insert for it to seat it seems. I'm wondering if your orange handle is rotating on the dipstick itself.

Took it to dealer and dipstick pipe is bent. No clue as to how this could've happened, but covered under warranty.

Wow... at least it was covered under warranty. I'm due for my first oil change (just bought a 2016 with 16K miles and I'm nearing 19K). I'll be gentle with the dip stick (lol).

Doubt very much the tube could’ve gotten bent by the owner checking the oil level, more likely done during an oil change ,very common now to suck the old oil out through the dipstick tube.so if they were done at the dealership it’s on them anyways.
