  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have to do a alternator change and taking my air filter off there’s a penny sized oil spot in the throttle body. Even the intake it’s self has some oil in it?

Yes. It's blow-by coming from the vacuum hoses connected to the intake.
Completely normal.

Yes that's the PCV system doing it's job. If the TB or plate is visibly dirty, then a good wipe down with some carb cleaner may be worthwhile.

Same problem im thinking about installing a catchcan

I noticed the same thing while swapping my alternator over the weekend. Glad to hear it's normal. The throttle body flap had some oil/grime around the edges. Sprayed some MAF cleaner on it and wiped it down. Now it looks brand new again.
