  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I decided being under the radar (so to speak) with a stealth brand hot rod would be great fun but the thing must be useful as well. Useful to me means lots of gadgets and full iPhone/iPod connectivity. Gotta play with my toys.

Earlier today it took me three dealers in two states to track down the iPod connection cable and with the aid of a 19 year sales person who enthusiastically determined both whether it would work with the Lexicon system (it does) and how to use it with the iPhone 3G but Blue Tooth as well.

This is only amusing because the the dealer I actually bought the car from late in the day didn't really have a clue. Nice, but no training. And get this, after first calling the Lexicon HG in NY (aka Harmon International) and then being referred to the OEM guys in MI who were nice as pie but also didn't know whether the iPhone would actually work with there very own system! They did promise to call my cell Tuesday when they reached the correct product manager who was in Korea. We'll see.

Re iPhone:
My dealer didn't know either, so she tried hers in the showroom model successfully. All the songs, albums, playlists, etc. show up and function perfectly. The only thing it doesn't do is "shuffle all" songs. You have to do that in the phone, then connect via the cable.
That said, the iPhone does deliver a "not compatible" warning and ask if you want to go to airplane mode. I click no, and listen on.
Enjoy!
