  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

One of GM's near future attacks on the Genesis

Looks like it is a FWD with AWD option.

That looks nice I think. But if I was going with GM I would buy the 09 cadi CTS-V. That thing goes. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds. Buy a slightly used cts for a half a price.

Very nice. I think GM will ultimately make a comeback. I am on the Chevy Volt waiting list. We will likely sell our 2006 Subaru Outback when the Volt finally becomes available, assuming it is not absurdly priced. Depending on the upcharge, we may wait for the Cadillac Converj.

If that LaCrosse was RWD, I would seriously take a look at it against the Genesis; but it's not so....

I saw the 2010 Buick Lacrosse in person and an Auto Show last weekend. It's definitely much larger than the Genesis. However, the front seats looked kind of narrow. Unfortunately they were not allowing anyone to sit in it.

I also sat in the Cadillac CTS and DTS. They very nice vehicles. The CTS had a very narrow driver's seat and was a little cramped for me. The Tech Packge and Sound System was very impressive in the Cadilliac. What was not impressive was the 52K price tag..Ouch.

wow, very sexy curves on that Buick!!! Reminds me of Lexus on the rear with exhaust and rear window. (combination of older GS and LS)

I wonder what the price range would be like on this vehicle when and if this were to introduced to public.

This Buick does nothing for me. Except for the grill, it does look somewhat like the Lincoln MKS, a car that I considered buying, however I just did not like the looks so I decided not to get the MKS. When I discovered the Genesis, that was it. Much better looking than the MKS and the pictured Buick.

Here's another one from GM europe (opel) that could end up on these shores in some form.

The Opel Calibra will come with a TDI diesel variant. This could give the Genesis coupe a run for its money.

I willing to bet though that Hyundai will have the price advantage of both cars.

First of all, like others have noted, that is a FWD sedan built on the same platform as the Malibu, Aura, etc. IIRC. Also, it's noticeably smaller than the Genesis and does not have a V8 option (at least not at launch). If anything, it competes w/ the Azera and upcomping Kia VZ (replacement for the Amanti).

Yep, a bit smaller (not larger) than the Genesis and more an Azera competitor. Interior is nicest yet from GM, IMHO.

I attended media days, so I was able to sit in the car. Seat comfort very good in front, okay in back.

I'm not as much a fan of the exterior.

It's definitely smaller than the Genesis but Buick is on the way up.. Buick WILL be competition for Lexus very soon. It's only a matter of time. Buick will be GMs luxury division (Cadillacs are luxury sports cars).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
This is very nice. They've done a good job of applying the new look shared by the Enclave to this but doing it in such a way that it fits a sedan. Like the Enclave, It definitely has some character to it.

I still consider Buick to be a near luxury brand at the moment, but they're doing a great job of modernizing their cars so that the can be competitive.

I kind of wish they had left a little bit more of the aggressiveness of the concept car in the front end, but it looks like the back end does have some aggressiveness to it:

Also, it looks like a lot of the interior is just like the concept too. That surprises me. Seems they're serious about having some major changes at GM.

Performance wise, the highest end V6 model seems to be on-par but a tad behind the V6 Genesis.

If it comes to an auto show near us, I'll have to check it out. However, I don't want something that's too small on the inside. When I upgrade I don't want something that I'm going to feel cramped in, but some here have indicated that it doesn't feel cramped inside.

Surprising amount of love for the Buick in this forum. Makes me think they have a shot after all.

Of course, it probably helps that Genesis owners are clearly willing to look past a badge and objectively evaluate a car.

Can't agree more. Looks like people are starting to put more emphasis on the best engineering and value, no matter what badge is on the trunk. More bang for the buck is what I believe that is called!

I WANTED to buy a domestic, but there was NOTHING out there that can even sniff my Genesis's exhaust. Ford? Nada. Chrysler? Please. GMC? Only the STS, which gets SLAMMED in the ratings and is FAR more expensive.

I hope American auto gets turned around, I really do. But until then...

I would like to see more TDI diesel action coming from all the manufacturers including Hyundai.
