  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Motors executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Genesis Motors executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a G80 driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Genesis G80.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.

Not sure what the newer cars have, but I cannot understand why the rear AC controls on the 2019 base G80 cannot be set to follow the front AC settings. If the rear set to hot and the front is set to cold, I have to pull over and reach back there and set it manually. I have to say it's the most frustrating thing on my G80.

Specific to the G80-E, there is no reason that a prestige trim shouldn't have heated rear seats.
not sure if there is a hardware limitation but the lack of wireless CP/AA is glaring.

Not sure if it's on all of them (I think it is though) but on my 2021 G80 the front climate control can be switched from front to rear controls. So I have the ability to set the rear to whatever I want from the front. The rear passengers still have the option of setting it to whatever they want.

On my trim there is no connection to the front controls. I believe it's that way on all base models in the 17-20 years.

I think I have it memorized now, temperature on left and volume on right. I think I can reach back and contort and set it manually without pulling over.

If I had to choose one or the other, I would choose an automatic setting for the rear vents instead of manual.

That's exactly the same as my 18 G80 sport had. I remember one day when I couldn't cool the car down and couldn't figure out why. I reached back like you said you do and, to my surprise, the air was coming out super hot. So not sure by who but, someone had changed the back setting to heat. Learned my lesson that day to check it now and again.

It really is nice now to be able to control it from the front in I agree that it was a bit of a pain to reach back between the seats to adjust it.

That's exactly what happens to me. Plus, everything in the console box heats up because the air goes under or around the box, heating it up. I've also had high heat fan speeds in the front, only to find the rear is set to full-on cool.

So your 2018 Sport did this? I assumed the 3.8 Sport, 3.3 Sport, and 5.0 all came with the front controls option.

Stop adding unnecessary chrome detailing to the body style. My 2017 G80 base model still look much better and refined. A clean look. IMO

There should updated infotainment on the 17-20 models g80 base & premium models. Improve the visuals so it look less “old” looking. Have the option to customize color background of the screen. I tried doing that but then back up camera quality is affected, Updated sharpness and clarity. I do wish they integrated start stop feature. Getting a red light or destination and engine shuts off then turns on when proceeding at will.

All the new cars have it. Luckily they give you a button to shut that feature off. It sucks in Phoenix when it’s 112 and the car shuts down and a/c blows hot. Keep that crap for the cooler climates.

There are wireless adapters on Amazon.

Make the door pockets deeper on 2023 and up. Everything falls out. A double (for lack of a better term) sunvisor on the drivers side. Often I need one in front and beside me. Otherwise the car is great:))

Also, for the start/stop - shut if off (the light shows) then push a "bread clip" halfway in the top of the button to keep it off. It works and has no effect on my car (20000 miles)

Engine from g90 into the g80. the one that is mild Hybrid
Heck....ditch the dual turbos. make the electric turbo like Porsche 911
that would get ditch 2 old school turbo and electric supercharger
add in that electric turbo wo might save weight and hopefully remove a few parts.

Hey Genesis corporate
Please admit that there is a serious problem with the steering rack. The steering sticks, turning left and right. Most people complain about this with on ramps. I feel like this needs to be a manufacture recall because it is a safety issue. You have even noted a TSB on this issue.

Hey Genesis.

Kick out the dash designers and replace them with the engineers that know proper presentation of engine instrumentation. The 2024 G80 is an abomination for having a tachometer the that rotates counter clockwise. I can hear the designer "Oh look at my pretty dash, the speedometer needle and the tachometer needle are perfectly opposite of each other.." It is just wrong. The 2020 G80 had a superb dash with properly located gauges.

Just got wireless CP with the most recent software update.

No more ipads glued to the dash design. Please integrate the screens back into center console. I felt they put more effort into designing the dash in my 2015 Genesis and 2020 G90.
