If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Motors executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Genesis Motors executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a G90 driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Genesis G90.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.

I would like to see a G90 hybrid

Forget about E Chargers and Turbos. IMHO a V8 with it's linear acceleration and fewer mechanical issues than a Turbo is what a Flagship vehicle of this caliber should offer. And, improvements across the board to Genesis service and parts availability would be a welcomed improvement!

Would be nice, like the old days. Write your congressman to get the EPA regulations changed.

Bring back the V8.
Bring the long wheelbase to the US.
Remove the hockey stick stretching across dash - it looks ridiculous. Go back to something more like the first generation - clean, straight lines.
Ditch the Superman grille - it looks tacky if not downright gaudy. No, it's not bold - it looks silly and cheap.
Go back to the previous style steering wheel - or at least something like what is in the Palisade. The current wheel looks like it came out of a 1990's Buick.
Hire a better designer for wheel styles or go back to something like the turbines.
Ditch the air suspension - you know damn well those are very problematic and expensive as they age. 1st gen G90 got it right without going that route. It wasn't broken - why did you fix it?
Expand the exterior color palette while eliminating the ones that are so similar to each other. Why do you have 2 whites, 2 blacks, 2 grays and a blue that looks black? Bring in a more royal colored blue, an emerald green and maroon.
Offer the tan interior on ALL exteriors.
Either bring back the shifting handle or put in a pushbutton one. Two rotary knobs right next to each other is not smart - even if they are shaped/sized/feel different from each other. This would rank as a safety concern.
Get rid of the flappy paddle shifters. They have no place on this car.
Add the snow driving mode. Why was this not included from the beginning like it was on the DH?
Either fix the panoroof creaking & noise issues that have plagued the brand since 2015 once and for all - or do not offer it on the flagship sedan. There is a reason you didn't put it on the 1st gen G90.
Go back to innovating your own headlight design styles like the 1st gen - vs. simply modifying the one you stole from Volvo for the 2020 facelift.
Put some color & text contrast in the center console. Everything being a cleared-over silver looks tacky and cheap compared to the rest of the interior.
Fix the delamination of the infotainment screen after prolonged exposure in the sun.
Bring back the V8.

Eliminate frivolous features and tech as it unnecessarily adds expense, complication and/or gaudiness:
- Mood curator - adjustable ambient lighting is plenty good on it's own.
- Pop-up speakers - completely unnecessary and prone to breaking during age. This was done simply for the sake of doing so and offers nothing to improve sound quality.
- Fingerprint auth - keys are not that big of a hassle.
- Scent spritzer - part of mood curator, but deserves it's own callout. This was done just for the sake of doing so. It was stupid when BMW started it, and it still is.
- UV compartments - we survived for generations without it. I promise you are not eliminating any germs with this. It is sitting in the middle of a giant, leather-clad petri dish.
- Active noise cancelling - the 1st gen didn't have this and was almost silent. Prolonged exposure to ANC has proven to be detrimental to ear health. This is not good for folks who road-trip with the G90, and there are more than a few threads on this forum making reference to nausea as a result. This would rank as a safety concern.
- Rear wheel steering (at least above parking-lot speed) - this functions way too aggressively through intersections and is contributing to rear passenger nausea issues.
- E-charged engines. (read: Bring back the V8)

FIX customer service / concierge / loaner vehicles. This entire thing is a shitshow to put it mildly - and it is doing way more harm to the brand than just about anything else.

On top of that - allow 2015-2021 models to be included-service & warranty worked at Hyundai dealers. The Genesis network is too small to not allow this - and you are punishing early(ier) adopters with this sudden restriction. It is not their fault that you launched the brand the wrong way. Those units will be aging out of warranty in the next few years anyhow - but current owners should not be getting screwed until then.

Lastly - remember who put you where you are. Remember what your customer base was when we were all early adopters: People who were looking for some creature comforts in a smooth & quiet ride - without the unnecessary expense and frivolous gadgetry that drove up the prices of the competition. You seem to have forgotten us - both with the G80, and the G90, as well as the GV80. You will sell more units if you put the price back where it belongs, and cut out all the crap that has now put the car in the 6-figure club. You also do not have the product quality or service experience to play in that club yet, either. Multi-million dollar showrooms with unnecessary art and empty lounges are not going to suddenly get you there - and only add to ridiculously jacked up costs for the 80, 90 and GV80. By absolutely no measure should the price of the G90 have increased 40% since 2017 (nor should the G80 have increased 44%).

Oh - and bring back the V8. Stop using turbos.

Remember who made you here in the US and Norther America.... those are who you were making cars for before, and you should remember to keep making cars for us now. We would have been loyal, recurring customers - but as of now you have alienated many of us from proceeding forward with the brand.

While the previous rendition of the pentagonal-shaped grille was awkward, the current one is pretty spot on.

As a V8 G90 owner, I'd actually recommend going the EV route. The point of high end luxury cars is to be quiet, isolated and comfortable. If you're not putting V8s in them anymore, just go fully electric and silent, no point complicating repairs and mainteance down the line with turbos and e superchargers or various hybrids. Cars from Bentley and Rolls Royce are perfect candidates for this. I love me a W12 but really just make them silent, smooth and powerful.

The Hyundai Ionic 5n has the fake transmission and sound, just use that on the G90 with V8 sound... Or put in the Zonda sound, why not...

Anyway, I want the long wheelbase Korean model. They get all the best features. Don't need the air suspension unless they're a huge improvement or major adjustments available. Having the option to lift the front 1 inch seems almost useless and having test driven the 2024 model, I couldn't tell the difference between that in mine in terms of suspension feel. I did notice the turbo lag and weird power delivery however, so I'd like something different there.

Keep improving the back seat features, stay away from throwing cheap screen everywhere and using cheap plastics like other manufacturers are doing. Make the rear seats recline more. I like that they're currently memory and reclining but I found the angle limiting. It's not quite like a nice sofa or a bed, more just like a slight recline so it's not easy to look forward anymore, but you're not quite looking up either so it's missing a bit.

I will say that having followed the brand since 2009, every time I looked at a Genesis and thought, "I hope they improve this in the updated version, " they actually did, and then some...from changing plastic bits or soft rubber buttons to aluminum, to adding nicer materials on the door panels and making the buttons on the sides of the seats more fancy, to having smooth LED strips you can leave on with your daytime running lights... so I'm confident they'll keep doing that without me suggesting anything.

Hopefully they keep improving the dealership and support experience and keep making great, beautiful cars.

Stay away from EV's as it will cost you at least 1/2 of your market. GM and Ford both have cuts billions from EV budgets, Teslas just sitting on lots and rental car companies selling their EV's and large discounts just to get rid of them due to the high cost of maintenance and upkeep

Definitely having parts readily available and not waiting weeks/months and service…this is luxury vehicle ownership 101. it’s telling when basic simple parts like an oil filter is unavailable or waiting weeks to get an oil change.

I owned Genesis since 2009 with a short break for a Kia k9, of which 1 was and 1 is g90s... So here's my personal take, tl;dr; - really don't care for much of that laundry list.

Bring back the V8.
don't care - eSC is plenty and works just ffine

Bring the long wheelbase to the US.
umm no, not for me - I already have trouble squeezing between the parked car and the garage door :)

Remove the hockey stick stretching across dash - it looks ridiculous. Go back to something more like the first generation - clean, straight lines.
eh... ridiculous is quite a strong opinion which prevail on internet. It's not the best of the design decisions but it's rather inoffensive.

Ditch the Superman grille - it looks tacky if not downright gaudy. No, it's not bold - it looks silly and cheap.
tacky and gaudy - more strong opinions that won't win much following. It looks fine by me.

Go back to the previous style steering wheel - or at least something like what is in the Palisade. The current wheel looks like it came out of a 1990's Buick.
Wheels design is the last thing I care about. I would like to have smaller wheels though, but not a requirement.

Hire a better designer for wheel styles or go back to something like the turbines.
I am not qualified at all to decide what a better design is - maybe the OP is, but I seriously doubt it.

Ditch the air suspension - you know damn well those are very problematic and expensive as they age. 1st gen G90 got it right without going that route. It wasn't broken - why did you fix it?
So much passion - I wonder why. I thought the suspension in G90 Gen1 was fine - so sure, for the reliability sake.

Expand the exterior color palette while eliminating the ones that are so similar to each other. Why do you have 2 whites, 2 blacks, 2 grays and a blue that looks black? Bring in a more royal colored blue, an emerald green and maroon.
Don't care - I drive white cars. Do we really think Genesis loses sales because they don't offer royal blue?

Offer the tan interior on ALL exteriors.
Not for me.

Either bring back the shifting handle or put in a pushbutton one. Two rotary knobs right next to each other is not smart - even if they are shaped/sized/feel different from each other. This would rank as a safety concern.
Agree.

Get rid of the flappy paddle shifters. They have no place on this car.
Agree - not just as strongly as "no place," - I just never touch them.

Add the snow driving mode. Why was this not included from the beginning like it was on the DH?
Don't care - Houston TX :)

Either fix the panoroof creaking & noise issues that have plagued the brand since 2015 once and for all - or do not offer it on the flagship sedan. There is a reason you didn't put it on the 1st gen G90.
Never had a single problem on G90s - it was a problem on past G80s for sure. But not sure how this belongs to the G90 letter.

Go back to innovating your own headlight design styles like the 1st gen - vs. simply modifying the one you stole from Volvo for the 2020 facelift.
The lights provide plenty light in the dark environment, and look good.

Put some color & text contrast in the center console. Everything being a cleared-over silver looks tacky and cheap compared to the rest of the interior.
Blah.

Fix the delamination of the infotainment screen after prolonged exposure in the sun.
If that's the real concern, it should be fixed - never had anything similar, but I don't park in the sun.

Bring back the V8.
Whatever, maybe people care.

Eliminate frivolous features and tech as it unnecessarily adds expense, complication and/or gaudiness:
- Mood curator - adjustable ambient lighting is plenty good on it's own.
Yes.

- Pop-up speakers - completely unnecessary and prone to breaking during age. This was done simply for the sake of doing so and offers nothing to improve sound quality.
Wouldn't lose my sleep over it either way

- Fingerprint auth - keys are not that big of a hassle.
I like FP - disagree.

- Scent spritzer - part of mood curator, but deserves it's own callout. This was done just for the sake of doing so. It was stupid when BMW started it, and it still is.
Again - lots of passion and internet-driven strong wording for no good reason. I wouldn't miss that feature, but don't mind it.

- UV compartments - we survived for generations without it. I promise you are not eliminating any germs with this. It is sitting in the middle of a giant, leather-clad petri dish.
don't care either way

- Active noise cancelling - the 1st gen didn't have this and was almost silent. Prolonged exposure to ANC has proven to be detrimental to ear health. This is not good for folks who road-trip with the G90, and there are more than a few threads on this forum making reference to nausea as a result. This would rank as a safety concern.
Maybe. The car is superbly quiet, but I can't tell what ANC adds or doesn't add to it. So as long as lack of ANC keeps it that way - sure.

- Rear wheel steering (at least above parking-lot speed) - this functions way too aggressively through intersections and is contributing to rear passenger nausea issues.
I love rear wheel steering and that it allows for tighter turns than my previous cars allowed for. Don't care for rear seat passengers - almost never have them :D

- E-charged engines. (read: Bring back the V8)

100%

This sounds like everyone on the internet knows how to run a business. I am not one of them.

Agree with dumb "hockey stick" a la Lexus LS--visually disruptive and looks archaic. Totally, 150% agree with lack of dealerships/semi-Hyundai satellites, non-valet service for me as I'm so far away, and you may be effective in 3-5 years, but stop promising excellent/valet/dealership service when you cannot support such. Yes, offer tan leather interiors on ALL exterior colors (who thought of these odd pairings? (maybe in S Korea this is the "way", but survey US "wants" to sell to USA. BTW, I love the fit, finish and quality of your G90's...

All Wheel Steering was a must when I shopped for a full-sized car.

The Nav system's street detail is terrible when compared to my old Mercedes or even my wife's 2020 Volvo S60.

I'm fine with a six cyclinder engine. The pickup for highway merging is good enough.

I will never,,...repeat NEVER, buy an EV. if Genesis switches to all TVs,I'm gone.

V6 Twin Tubo is faster than the faster to 60 than the V 8, The V- 8 Weights is 157 lbs heavier and time trails say the same, the V6 Twin turbo get 30

to 34 to 35 mpg, All of the Genesis G90 are dinosaurs compared to both Audi, BMW, and Mercedes with slower acceleration times outside the
Audi, I bought my 2021 G90 with rear drive and added K&N filers for both sides of the engine with the V6 Twin Turbos and it increases the off
the line response. There is a publication on the internet called 0 to 60, it lists every manufacture and model with times 0 to 60 and Quarter Mile
times.
I have owner a 2016 Hyundai Equus with a V8 and the transmission dropped at 53,000 miles and Hyundai put a refurbished Transmision it its place no more V-8 engines.
The dealerships are improving, if you can plan a schedule a time for enough in advance you can get a loaner car.

Like it Quiet: "I will never,,...repeat NEVER, buy an EV. if Genesis switches to all EVs, I'm gone."

But there's nothing quieter than an EV.

People who refuse to even consider an EV today remind me of the people 100 years ago who said a horse was good enough for them, they would never buy one of them new-fangled automobiles. Why would you buy a car back in 1910? Horses ate grass and were faster and much more reliable than cars that you had to put gasoline in and have a mechanic riding shotgun.

Like it or not, EVs are the future of personal transportation. They're in their infancy now, and their 2 main drawbacks, lack of range and charging time, are improving annually.

Granted, that's the point. They're in their infancy & the time is not yet there yet.

lots of recent artlcles from where card dealers report reduced customer demand for EV's.

Remember the government blew 3 billion dollars on installing 6 or 8 charging stations.
I'm not comfortable in putting a charging station in my garage yet.Nor have they sufficiently researched lithium battery fire potential & the inability of local fire companies putting them out (often EV car fires on the road have been allowed to burn out on their own).

plus I don't want to plan my trips around charging station availability.

maybe I'll revisit the issue in another 10 years.

In my opinion, I liked the 2020 g90 diamond grill shape much more than the rounded one they have now. It's too wide. Also, the dish wheels should have remained a staple of the G90. Very annoying to see the only dishlike wheel only be available on the LWB model. Last, at 100K I'll pass on the new models, that's a 24% increase on what I paid for my '21 G90, and quite honestly the '23 G90 I tested wasn't THAT much better than my '21. Sadly, it seems Genesis has ditched Value as one of their values. Rear-wheel steering, e-chargers, pop-up speakers - who was asking for any of this stuff? That adds ZERO value to ME.

Unless Genesis brings back the V8, I’m sticking with my 2021. Also, don’t like the current model’s interior.

If Genesis HQ does nothing they need to bring ALL of their dealers up to one high standard. 1. Answer the damn phone 2. Provide top shelf service 3. Sell only car that are in first class shape. Not a certified car with damage like mine. 4. Be able to get service and parts in a timely manner.
Keep in mind that your competition is Mercedes-Benz BMW, jaguar. I don’t care how good your car is. If you can’t provide top shelf product support after the sale I will go to another brand.
