  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Open Letter to Genesis Motors - How I'd Improve the GV70

1-The lowest fan setting (1) is too strong if you just want a little bit of air. How about a variable fan speed.
2-Unlock doors at the same time when opening liftgate.
3- Auto open foot swipe feature under lift gate. I had to turn off the auto feature as the liftgate had opened while I was walking around in the garage while I had the keys in my pocket. The liftgate opened into my closed garage door.
4-Allow for better separation of audio. It seems no matter what adjustment I make too much sound still comes from the front speaker.
5-Agree with other postings.

#2 Is a security feature. You don't always want to unlock everything

#3 is good for younger people. I have the auto shut off also but I'm not about to wiggle my feet under the bumper. Tried it on a friends car. Can be dangerous.

Agree with these...and please add digital keys and OTA updates for Canadians! All the equipment is there...just use it!

The car may have the equipment, but does Verizon? I would think it simple enough but don't know for sure what they contract.

Well, we don't have Verizon...so maybe that's an issue?

Genesis does use Verizon in the US. I have no idea what the deal is, but most cell phone plans have a decent limit and most people use a Gig or two a month. How many Gig of data must be sent to thousands of cars? Pretty hefty infrastructure load to pay for.

Interesting and comprehensive list. Any idea what it would cost to add all those features? Would you be willing to pay it?
A couple of them are regulated by the EPA. What do you propose to change them? One being the drive mode, the other being the auto stop/start mode. Genesis has no control over that.

Would be good if we could come up with the price add for some of the features and take a poll to see if we what we are willing to pay. .

Couple I'd be willing to pay for, others, I'd nix for my use. The single driver has different wants and needs over someone that always has a few passengers.

We're not sure how much a price increase would be if changes were made to the GV70, but Genesis is interested in hearing from GV70 owners about the improvements they'd like to see in future models. GeeVee7T has summarized the request list for Genesis and GV70 owners to review. Some changes won't significantly alter the vehicle and can be applied easily via software updates. Some changes may not be possible due to EPA regulations, and that's understandable. Additionally, some features available in the Korean market GV70 could be implemented in the US market.

Is this a list of requests from within this discussion?

It is a good summary. Genesis is in business to sell cars so they have to give features people want at a price customers are willing to pay. That is why I'd like to see a poll on that. I imagine Genesis would too.
Ventilated rear seats? In the past 5 years, one time I had two passengers. What would be the cost of adding that feature? $200? $500? Obviously some suggested it and is willing to pay.

What marketing has to determine, is we add a feature that 2 of 1000 buyers want, is it a good idea to have 998 buyers pay more for the car?

Stop charging for all season mats and cargo liner? Sure, add that to the price of the car. If you live in a snow area, great idea, if not, what is the benefit? Let's take a poll.

I would add: allow dealer retrofit of HDA II to those ‘23 vehicles who got shortchanged because of the chip shortage and only came equipped with HDA I. It’s basically the addition of two front radar units, the mounting points for which are already in the cars, an additional control unit, a wiring change, and a software tweak so that the car is aware that the additional radar units are installed.

The discussion was about Genesis wanting to gather feedback on the improvements GV70 owners would like to see. While some of the suggestions may not seem practical, other car manufacturers have features similar to those of the standard. The discussion was meant to focus on different aspects rather than the cost of adding new features. You're the only one concerned about the cost, as most GV70 owners are not worried about the price.

Good to know that GV70 owners don't care what the car cost. Then lets add those features and raise the price about $10,000 and everyone will be happy to pay the sticker.

OK
The feature I want is a good set of options that make sense and are not jacking the price for things I'll never use.

Sal,

Based on the discussion in the thread, the list appears to be accurate. I can see my request on the list.
I updated the first post, adding the information...

Please abandon/ditch your plans for the huge, ugly rectangle digital screen on the 2026 GENESIS GV70, it is HIDEOUS!

The current digital dash, tastefully integrated into the dashboard with the separate digital screen is a much better design that seamlessly integrates into the complete design flow of the interior.

The big, sterile, HYUNDAI RECTANGLE you are planning on tacking onto the GENESIS GV70/GV80 LOOKS TACKEY and is definitely NOT GENESIS quality, or design.
