Hi,

What did most Canadian Genesis owners do re: winter tires + wheels during last winter?

I am from Montreal and I was wondering what will my options be this coming fall when I will have to get winter tires for my 5.0 R-Spec...

I have an '09 V6 with 18" wheels. When I bought the car it already had 17" winter wheels with winter tires on.
For your R-Spec with 19" wheels, 18" winter rims and tires should work.
If you plan on using the 19" wheels with winter tires, you might have more limited choices due to the size.

I have a '10 with 4.6L and 18" wheels in manitoba
I put nokian hakka R's (one of the highest ranked winter tires) on the stock 18" wheels and bought 20" wheels and summer tires to use in the summer
Bought the tires from kal-tire for something like 1300 incl taxes and mount+balance and they are warrantied for like 100000kms so I shouldn't ever need to buy winter tires again as long as I have my car.
I tried to get the studded hakka 7's but they didn't have them instock and I couldn't wait, so they gave me an ever better deal on the R's for my "inconvenience". I highly recommend the tires and kal-tire, and if you go to kal-tire always haggle them on price, you can get 100 off their posted price on a set pretty easy.
