  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Optimum Shift Points

If you are looking for that "smooth" shifting, you are best with just sticking to full auto because you will never be able to shift smoother than the auto, as the auto already automatically shifts at the proper RPM. The whole point of the paddle shifters is to give you a bit more control over your RPMs for taking curves/corners, as the one thing that the auto cannot do is know what the road will be like (not yet anyway); however, if your goal is just to be able to accelerate fast, you will never be able to beat auto in that regards.

Even if you try to emulate the RPMs at which the auto shifts, you will not be able to react faster than the auto does, so you still will not be as smooth all the time.
