  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ordered "custom" Genesis G80 mats from Covercraft--regretted it

LOL

Let me know if you bought them or not.

Definitely going to buy. Covercraft still HAS NOT refunded my money. Can you believe that [profanity]? Those are my priorities this week, try to squeeze in a phone call to Covercraft after I get home from work for the 10 minutes they're still open, try to not use profanity on the phone with them, and then, call Auto Anything any order the Lloyd's mats.

Have you contacted your credit card company? Had a similar situation and they resolved it in minutes.

Oh I have no doubt of resolving it one way or the other.

I want to give Covercraft an extremely generous chance to resolve it without me opening a can. If I have to resolve it with the credit card company, I will never forgive Covercraft as long as I live.

Just a follow up, ordered this set on Sun and received them Fri. A perfect match.
$256 otd with shipping. Ready for another crappy winter!

Just to follow up on this, I waited a while, and Covercraft did NOT refund my money automatically after having received my RMA, despite it being like 4 weeks.

Naturally, I called with some annoyance, exactly the situation I did NOT want.

She clicked some buttons (and I was, in fact, refunded a few days later). I asked: "Well, why was this call necessary? Why was my refund not in progress?" Answer: "LOL I don't know." Me: "Oooook."

So that final call went all right, but I shouldn't have had to make it.

Overall, between not having the 2020 Genesis G80 correctly parsed out and not even having the right size stuff, and then the hassle to get them to agree to return the item, and THEN the hassle to wait for 3 weeks and still having to call yet again to get them to honor the return, I wasn't thrilled. I won't be using Covercraft in the future, either directly, or through another vendor. There was really no aspect of this experience (except your guys' help) that was good. Everything was somewhere on the neutral to crap continuum with Covercraft.

HOw this should have gone? This should have been what they said the first call I made:

"ooooooooooh yeah, I see what happened. We didn't put the AWD/RWD distinction in the drop downs for the 2020 G80. That's totally our fault. Fortunately, the 2019 is the same size mats, and I can go ahead and just ship those right out to you in the CORRECT size this time, sorry again for that, and if you'd please return the wrong ones with the prepaid label I'm sending to your email address that would be great. Sorry about that mix up and we're going to get that fixed."

But, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Bottom line: Covercraft sucks.

I am loving my Lloyd's floor mats.

Final update.

I did order the Lloyd's "Luxe" Floormats from AutoAnything in California (via the web site). That was a very pleasing experience. Hats off to them. When I called over there, I got someone that not only REALLY knew car products, but someone who sounded distressingly motivated to make me super happy and earn my business.

I eventually bought the "luxe" mats, for the front only, for my 2020 G80 with the Beige interior and black carpets. They arrived early this week.

I was pleased to see that Lloyd's Mats has recently added additional resolution to their ordering options for recent Genesisses (Genesi? Genesae?), to include the AWD/RWD distinction.

**NOTE**, I decided to match the beige, and NOT the black, for the mats (the stock mats are black, or at least, super dark gray? to match the carpet). I chose the Lloyd's color "parchment" as I felt that was closest. It worked out great.

The pile on these mats is just slightly more than the factory mats, and the result is very nice.

I'm thrilled with my TuxMats (The Ultimate Car Mat | TuxMat) - they're designed to handle Canadian salty roads and wipe clean easily. They certainly can handle your "twist" exit. Check 'em out. They fit like a glove and I've gotten a lot of compliments.

OK, so here is the driver's side (click for higher resolutions). This was pretty much an exact match for the original driver's side mat:

Here is the passenger's side full shot:

There is one area on the passenger side where the shape is different--the Lloyd's mat has slightly less material in this one indicated area---I did not find this at all problematic, but I mention it because it was not an exact geometric match:

Plushness/depth of pile is hard to convey. So I stuck my finger in there, and took a picture of it, to give you a sense:

Again, I have the Uyuni white, 2020 Genesis G80 with AWD. YOU MUST MAKE SURE, if you order mats, THAT YOU INDICATE THE AWD if you have it, as this is typically NOT THE DEFAULT. Some mat makers won't have this. If so, the mats will NOT fit, since there is a difference on the passenger side. This should not be a problem with Lloyd's mats.

The white G80 comes with the beige interior (at least mine did), but the stock carpets and mats are dark grey/black. What you see pictured here is NOT that color, it is the color called "parchment" by Lloyd's. I looked at the colors online and prayed to the gods that it would match, but it wasn't exactly returnable since it's custom. It matched well, as you can see.

Edit: One more thing---these will clearly be ****TERRIBLE**** with winter grime/dirt/salt. But that's ok. Maybe I'll buy another set for winter like "Bill in Alexandria" has.

They seem to have the AWD/RWD distinction in theirs too. Good!

Too bad it's "black, or **ck off" for the color choices.

Glad you like them. I have no issue with them in my car. Mine is Black.
